Here's to the travel industry employees who have to work holidays

I always hear people griping it is how bad it is people at big stores have to work on the holidays. Here's to the pilots, hotel workers, flight attendants, car rental agents, and all other workers who make this happen. It's a 365 day a year industry.

I will say, it is one of the biggest days of a year for a lifeguard as well, I always worked the 4th in high school.

Also journalists. This job sucks ass. I work at a small paper on "salary" so I don't even get time and a half.

If you're not actually given managerial duties, they may be breaking the law by paying you "salary".

I have a professional designation so salary is pretty typical with this kind of work.

They may be violating the FLSA.

I'm Canadia, but yea they kind of hard. It's just impossible to prove. I don't know how to do it. I had to work 7 days this week.

If you're making under 49k then they have to pay you OT.

I make 40k but I'm Canadian. He gets around it by saying that I have a quota to fill and I'm not "required" to work holidays.
