I stepped out of my house for the first time in two weeks yesterday. I sneered at the sun and went back inside. I miss work/school.

I can't get out of bed for anything other than work either. It's cause I have just enough time to sleep and go to work.

You did something today! Kick ass. Sometimes getting out of bed is the best you got.

Thanks, that can be hard for a lot of people to remember sometimes.

Congrats! Pick one thing to do each day. It helps to only have one thing.

Getting out of bed to go to work is a massive achievement, so cleaning your house deserves a high five. Small steps in a positive direction

I washed my kitchen floor with lavender scented fabuloso cause I'm a cheap ass. But the whole house smells good and puts me in a good mood

I went to bed at a reasonable time last night.

Nice! That was my hardest problem when I was deep in depression. Was afraid of my own dreams for a good bit.

And guess what? Im gonna do it again! It's 9:37. I'm signing off imgur, taking a shower, and sleeping. I'm going to have a sleep cycle again

My mother in law has this saying, "Even when all we can manage to do is stagger, we stagger forward."

This was me today! I put away two weeks worth of laundry! (But I have another basket waiting to be washed now). Go you!!!!

Hubby helped with the socks so it wasn't too bad! Doing anything I can to get out of the slump I'm in.

Well done OP. Currently in the firm grip of depression and haven't been able to get out of bed for days. Trying again tomorrow.

Remember to give yourself credit for your effort. Depression can be powerful, but you are stronger.

You can do it! Even if it's just to take a shower or get a glass of water, you can do it!

One of my good friends died 2 weeks ago. Every day is a struggle, just keep plugging away and eventually the pain will lessen

Sorry for your loss, lost my gma about a month ago. I'm just getting to where I feel somewhat like myself again. Small steps, bromato.

My sympathies to both of you. Hope your sadness lessens with time.

The burden never the lessens you just become more equipped to deal with it

I'm so happy for you! That period between "I feel like nothing matters" and "god, I hope these pills work" feels like longest time ever!!

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Agreed, thanks for the kind words!

What are you on? And is it helpful?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Lexapro. It took a bit to kick in, but it keeps my mood pretty level.
