#5 One of my favorite facts is that for years, scientists tried to figure out why woodpeckers don’t suffer concussions or brain damage in an effort to try to replicate it. Surely, they must have some kind of special padding in their skull or something, they thought. Turns out, woodpeckers’ brains are just so small they lack the mass to get concussed in this manner
