The best part of all of this is that every single instance you mention was signed off on by GRRM.

HBO is a cesspool.

C'mon the tower of joy scene wasn't nearly as bad as they make it out to be, the dialog was actually very similar.

You missed the one where all the people who only know the show call the people who read the books losers and nerds for being disappointed.

You are a loser and nerd for being disappointed.

The book will always be better than the movie. ALWAYS. I haven't read or watched this material yet but that is just a universal truth.

Not always, fight club was a better and Shawshank Redemption was better imo.

I prefer Kubrick's version of The Shining over Stephen King's.

"Waaaaah" is all it should say because you are child that doesn't recognize how different forms of media execute material. Get over it.

There's a difference between executing material differently and watering it down, they insert so much extra rape and sexual (1)

Violence into the show as well, which ruined 'show' Jamies character arc. GoT has gotten lost in its own spectacle and (2)

Lost its respect for the source imho, this last season was almost a parody of itself

I see, so you're saying shows based on books are supposed to be awful. Gotcha.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Do you really think the show is awful?

At this point the bad outweighs the good. The coolness of it gets cancelled out by the annoyances of the illogical creative choices. For me.

I love it, but that may be b/c the Sword of Truth series was adapted into a TV show that was SO bad that everything else seems like gold

Don't get me wrong, I got really hyped when I started watching, nothing like this was really done before GoT on the realism level.

(They're my favorite fantasy books)

My theory is that as the show got bigger and bigger, the two execs thought more and more that it's because of them and not the book's story.
