Planned on having a fun day at the parks with my friends after paying all the bills for the month, and my car decided to overheat and start smoaking on the drive over.
Have no idea what’s wrong with it waiting for the tow truck right now, praying it’s something cheap and easy to fix like a cooling line, can’t afford much more then that. And hoping I won’t end up needing to get a new car as that’ll really screw me
On the bright side it’s stopped smoking at least, and will at least turn on enough I can put it in neutral so it can be towed,

Yuuuuup 80k or 5 years old? Probably due for a timing set and definitely due for head gaskets.

Is there coolant in it? If you're close to your destination, crank the heater and drive at low rpms.

Also, watch the heat gauge and stop before it gets all the way up.

No. That was acceptable when engines were cast iron. All aluminum engines (like the ej25) don't overheat well. Get it towed, take an uber.

Get smashed in the beer garden at the park. It'll make the estimate hurt less tomorrow.

Worked on my 2003 Sebring when the radiator got all gunked up and wanted to overheat in traffic well enough to get me there and back again.

A Sebring doesn't have a boxer that pops head gaskets like AP college kids pop Adderall
