"The 11th hour before the deadline is still before the deadline, but it's terrible for blood pressure."

So I've decided to make this a bit of a thing. I've been able to do it on a fairly regular weekly basis so far. I'm told my knowledge pool and google-fu are decent-ish, and I believe knowledge is best when shared. Silly questions get interesting answers, hyper technical questions get an attempt at answers, FAQs get a downvote, and sincere questions get sincere answers, and my upvote. Remember when all is said and done, I'm here to learn just as you are, and share what I find.

FAQ Shortlist:
* The average cruising airspeed velocity of an unladen European Swallow is roughly 11 meters per second, or 24.6 miles an hour. The African swallow is ~8.9 meters per second, or 20.1 miles per hour.
* 42.
* Sorry, I don't have my credit card available at the moment.
* "Why?" Why not?
* "Why not?" Because. Usually.
* "No really, why?" Because you learn a person's true nature through their curiosity.
* "How are you?" I'm alright. https://imgur.com/gallery/j9ALITD
* "What're you up to?" The obvious aside, working on fixing my teeth. Exposed nerves are no joke.
* "(Quote from a movie)." Not a question, but that's a good reference.
* "(Quote from a movie that's a question)." (Response in movie to quote. Usually.)
* "Favorite question?" Anything that makes people stop and think, in a good way.

In a sense. Breathing in air from a septic tank is still (barely) breathing in air.

How many times must u use a reusable cup before it’s better than a single use bottle (please factor in ecological cost of washing)

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

The downside of single use bottles is not the trash, but the cost in polymer production and how it perpetuates air pollution.

How will global shipping industry be affected now that gas prices are stagnating, despite inflation and then russian conflict?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

While gas prices are currently in a state of flux, I'm hesitant to say they are 'stagnating' just yet.

The earth is spinning at 1000mph. Why don't airliners fly against that spin and make an hours long trip much shorter?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

The speed is relative to the distance of the poles. That said...depends on the destination they're aiming for.

I would strongly advise consulting a crow expert before considering the possibility, but they can be trained. They can be a handful.

When a room fills up with a large number of people, why does the room get so loud when no one is shouting?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Sound reverberation, and one speaking just loud enough to be heard over the noise.

Pretty simple. Territorial, with the benefits of flight and a snake-like neck. Similar to a predator approaching one's children.

If water isn't wet but makes things wet and I wipe my wet hand on something making that thing wet am I now water and therefore not wet?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

No. Water and the sensation of being wet is sensory stimulation we've conditioned ourselves as being "wet", despite technical differences.

Why are people from Holland called Dutch instead of Hollish?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Because Holland isn’t a country. They’re from the Netherlands, so a better question would be why aren’t they called Netherish? /1
