Aha! Looks like they are trying to pull the "Rapscallion of the shakespears play!" Joke's on them that move hasn't worked since 1947, rookies.

Actually i dunno wtf I'm looking at but don't all cheese plays have some sort of name like thatt? y/n?

The queen can’t legally move to c6.

You're right, I meant start with Qc5

Check with the queen, black queen blocks, take the queen, fork with the rook for check, has to move the king, rook eats the bishop. Technically a good increase for material. Play keep away rook vs rook and work on promoting a pawn.

Why wouldn't rook block instead of queen?

If B rook blocks, then W Qc8 accomplishes the same

Good point, the rook can just move back and forth between blocking checks. Is this puzzle a trick? I don't see another option but I have been up for 24hrs.

I couldn't get this in my head and had to get an actual board - but if black rook blocks the queens check then white rook to d3 threats black queen, and is protected by Bishop on h7. No good moves for black to stop white queen from taking black rook for mate.

I didn't see the bishop, good call, seems like I'm rusty.
