I just finished building this. Normally, I repaint, hand detail, and do a lot of stuff to them. But I didn't for this one. Between the heat of the summer, the wet of the fall, and the blistering cold of the winter, I haven't been able to do my hobby in over a year. I have a kit, half finished just sitting in pieces. I actually discussed this with my therapist. So, for a while. I'm working on kits that don't have to be repainted. Just to build.

This is the Strike Freedom from Gundam Seed. It's a version of the first Gunpla I did 7 years ago that my wife bought me for Christmas. Boy did she make a mistake. I've got 7 versions of this kit built and 4 more left to build... plus a metric tonne of other kits.

You can get started with modeling for little more than $20. If you like giant robots like this, the HG line usually costs around $17 and a pair of nippers costs about 15. That's all you really need. But if you really start to enjoy it, then you'll want some sanding sticks, and detail markers and paint and... But it's a nice relaxing way to spend some time.

I just finished this lovely chap today, It's my 6th gunpla, all RGs. It's such a fun absorbing hobby, I have done model kits since I was a kid but nothing is as rewarding a build process as these. Your's looks so crisp, What does deactive mean when I see it on a kit's name?

The Gundam's in Seed were activated when a pilot entered them and powered up. Then they were the pretty red, blue, white. Until then they were "Deactive" which are the greys and blacks.

Oh sweet, thanks so deactive will be a monochrome kit essentially? I'll keep an eye cos that could be fun :)

They were P-Bandai and I don't know if they will be back. If you aren't aware "Premium Bandai" is a name for items that are only produced for a short time and only occasionally reissued. Keep an eye out on their website (https://p-bandai.com/us).

I have looked at a few p-bandai kits but I don't know if I'll ever take that step... I mean I totally will but I want to pretend I can resist for a while longer
