It's cool, guys -- racing slicks work better in the snow, right?
MilDravin
hope you got them to sign a release of liability...

Not safe in the rain either.. I wonder if it's 4WD.. people seem to think that's a substitute for good tires.

Good Year?

With tires like that you can get stuck in half a inch of snow

You shouldn't be let give the car back to them with out the police wait for them to pull away, that is not road worthy
Right I agree completely but nothing we can really do besides hoping they pull their head out there ass.

Racing slicks is illegal on the street in Norway, and this will cause you to loose your licence over here
Turning up screen brightness i see they ARE bald tires. Ffs, this is dangerous for driver and everyone else

It's illegal to have these in the US too, but less than half of the states have annual or semiannual inspections to catch things like this.
scubaru08
Isn't the shop legally obligated to change the tire(s) at that point?
InvadingYourSpaces
I believe in most places that can initiate a government safety inspection.
It's illegal to hold a vehicle if you haven't done any work or the customer has paid for what you did do, otherwise shady shops would use
this excuse to replace tires, ball joints and tie rod ends every time you come in for an oil change. The states that do have safety
inspections are generally only allowed the annual or semiannual inspection to declare something unfit for driving. Maybe half of the US
requires any kind of inspection, and of those half most are just a Smog check on a dyno, or popping it up on the lift for 30 seconds.

I'm a female and even I know that bald tires as bad as those are bound to fail.
They aren't bald, they are track tires(slicks), meant to be that way.
Female fail :(
Actually, zooming in, i see weak patterns. You are right, they are completely worn down. My mistake, male confidence fail ;-)
