I work in a convenience store
Some context I guess: The kid was running wild and tearing products out of their shelves and running behind the register and fucking around with my coworkers that were trying to get costumers through, I tried to get the child's parents attention but they kept looking at lightbulbs and ignoring me and their child, so when the child started climbing the shelves (which reach up a fair bit) I just looked at him and smiled cause I knew the shelves would fall over. And when they did.. sweet justice.
The parents didn't even budge to the sound of the shelves falling btw. They only noticed something had happened when their kid came sprinting at them while crying that the shelves didn't wanna play with him anymore and that this store was "stupidpants".
Badlyphotoshopedconfucedfloofygiraff
Should have guided the kid to the hammer, nails and axes isle for his climbing...
LawFiveGuy
Has to be a true story because no one is going to finish this story with "stupidpants" if it's fiction.
Lebellablanca
Asshole kids!
DezTurkish
If this happened, that little moment would not be savory enough to want to restock all the shelves.
SwitcHB1ade
Should have kicked them out afterwards too.
Ralsto
I dont blame you. The parents probably would have just caused trouble for you anyway if you tried to physically stop him.

Is it to late term for an abortion?
IButtIntoRandomComments
It's not his genes it's the parenting
ABoringIndividual
Parenting isn't hard when it's done properly. These parents are shit.
triplemax
Sounds like a plot for a condom commercial.
GuruOfReason
You made the right call.
kentbleaf
A cracked skull seems like fair consequences for knocking some chips to the floor.
ToxicPineapple
That will be an important lesson.
MadameBathory
Those parents will be the first ones to try to sue the store when something happens to their dumb kid.
yourcleverusername7
Please tell me you called the cops and made the parents pay for damages?!?
QUAY1
And then the parents sue and OSHA fines the company for unsafe shelving. Kid may be shitty but that could have killed him.
QUAY1
Assuming any of this is actually real, that is.
LeiZhenBang
If he got hurt, store may be liable
zma123456
Just because the kid was acting stupid due to bad parenting doesn't mean you shouldn't stop the kid from really injuring him self badly
suszygreenberg
I'll take things that never happened for 1,000 Alex

Attl learn em
SPTB312
What the fuck it's a kid dude he doesnt know better, you let an innocent kid get hurt because he was annoying you at your shit job Fuck you!
connekt
He's not the parents guardian. Fuck you for taking the neglectful parents side. But go ahead, blame everyone else.
CitizenDickbag
To be fair, the story sounds like fantasy bullshit,
noyougofuckyourself
Thank you! Everyone is cheering him on.
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
If this is true I think you're the worst person in this scenario for standing there and smiling while a little kid gets hurt.
Dickbutt696969
Little shit.
Whiteguyinthesky
Was hoping for shelving to fall onto parents too..
WhatDoesntKillYou
Bad parents suck!
mugu88
Maybe they're not bad - they just had to deal with the little shit being insane most of the day already.
WhatDoesntKillYou
Maybe, or maybe they just passed their rotten genes to the next generation? Or, they didn't set boundaries earlier? Or, they're unlucky?
HitlersArtCritic
Let kids do anything and don't give a shit what, and they'll end up a mess someone else will have to clean up.
CarlosSpicyweiner
Would only be better if the parents had to pay for everything that broke.

This post and the top comments are what's wrong with western society and imgur.
ZacharyLaPointe
I see the split in the comments I wish to explain the mixes, I believe why most think it's okay is because the fact that the child was rude-
ZacharyLaPointe
and being destructive to the store and it's workers, with the parents not making any attempt to teach him proper manners and respect, he had
ZacharyLaPointe
To learn one way or another, and honestly in the way he learned is personally the way im okay with, the child got hurt, yes, but it could be
ZacharyLaPointe
That it was on purpose to be at the certain items where it wouldn't be lethal or brutally injured, I won't dismiss this person for doing
ZacharyLaPointe
such an act as just letting the kid injure himself, but at the same time, I will condone the parents for raising the kid like a little shit
JhericFury
Regardless of items, the shelves could've killed the kid. Being a brat doesn't justify negligent manslaughter.
MerToo
Those shelves are the iron boot heel of Darwin attempting to grind the parents' DNA out of history.
UpVoteDragons
This needs to be a t-shirt. Or a mug. No... a Das boot. It needs to be etched into Das boot.

janedrew
A very convenient store?

FredGarvinMaleProstitute
I know everything is bigger in Texas but is Buc-ee's like the size of a Rhode Island Wal-mart ?
FluffyMan93
The one in Baytown is fucking massive!

Yup and cleaner
FredGarvinMaleProstitute
I did read that the toilets are so clean they put mints ON the urinals.
GuruOfReason
If it means ignoring their kids, some people will take all the time in the world.
FredGarvinMaleProstitute
still didn't answer my questions
GuruOfReason
I work at a convenience/liquor store, we sell lightbulbs. People would rather buy here than drive to a "real" store.
FredGarvinMaleProstitute
can you tell that I am much more interested in the lightbulbs than the kid ?
TheRealDrSteveBrule
I believed the whole thing until the very end.
luchie24
Was it the stupid pants? That's what made me not believe it
PaleWaffle
I didn't really believe it. It can't be real. Please don't be real.
manwhoclaimstobedoctorbutisnt
I didn't believe it until the end. You don't joke with the word stupidpants.
IronicUsername
My guess is a kid climbed on a shelf and knocked it over or fell and everything else is embellishment.
blameitonmyjuice
Seriously. The "stupidpants" shelves didn't want to play with him anymore? Yeah, sounds like what a just-injured kid would say. (Not really)
Jrex42
It sounds more like what someone would think kids say if they hate kids and assume they're all little monsters.
Vengurd
So far you and the others responding to you don't really get just how stupid some parents can be when it comes to child care.
Protean2648
No kid has ever said something as stupid as "won't play because stupidpants".
ladybird2223
I think it's what the kid supposedly said is what makes it unbelievable.
IHopeThisUserNameIsntTakenYet
My son has taken to just screaming 'fuck' when injured. Like a real person. A real, 7 year old person that doesn't climb shit in public
