Push button on passenger door knob, driver's side has same but with keyhole.

Note the cupholder, the other one is behind the elbow area, in middle.

Back end

Handsome interior

Sport mode toggle, part of the automatic transmission (this is a non-functional display car)

6 speed. Two USB plugs.

I hope the center console holds something interesting for the cupholders to be moved to those odd locations.

Skyactiv badge

MX-5 badge

NB

NC model split in half between everyday car and track car.

I hope it's a prototype that will be released in 2016, else why the fuck would you name it 2016 and release it in 2014?

Except it's all grown up and looks like a FR-S/BRZ, which I'm ok with.

I may have been the only person to read Derek Jenkins in a WOW voice (ala Leroy Jenkins).

I still mistake WOW for World of Wonder, the maker of the talking Teddy Ruxpin doll from the 1980s. Now I'm imagining D. Jenkins as T.Ruxpin

Does it still have an anemic 4-cylinder engine producing ~150 HP that takes an embarrassing 8+ seconds to drag the car up to 60 MPH?

The MX-5 has never been a serious racing car, it's a fun little sports convertible that doesn't take itself too seriously.

"Sports." Yes it's rwd and fun in the corners but it should at least outpace an average commuter car.

I'm not a big fan of the rear, but otherwise I like it. Are they making a folding hard top too?

They refused to discuss anything sales or engineering related unfortunately.

That said, the rear is slowly growing on me.

Cupholders OP, cupholders...

I like to pronounce cupholder as cuffolder, but when I type cupholder, I get upholder. (I had to edit the spelling on this comment 3 times)

Pity about all the buttons on the steering wheel and the automatic transmission (I assume paddles, boo), but it should be good for a laugh.

That's clearly a manual gearbox being shown.

I guess the "Sport mode toggle, part of the automatic transmission (this is a non-functional display car)" part threw me off.
