Major League Baseball and the world lost an amazing person today. Jose Fernandez of the Miami Marlins died in a boating accident at the age 24. One of the best pitchers this year, set to have pitched tomorrow was found dead around 4am this morning. Wanted to share alittle of his story.
After being jailed at a young age for 3 attempts to escape Cuba, he got on a crowded boat at the age of 15 and escaped. While on the boat he heard a woman screaming in distress. A woman fell overboard, he ended up saving her life which turned out to be his own mother.
4 years later he was drafted 14th overall by the Miami Marlins. And two years from that won the Cy Young award and was on pace to do it again this year. Jose lived and played the game with such spirit and will be missed.

Take a life from the sea and it always finds a way to get one back.

If he got caught in a propeller, he'd be resting in pieces. If he wasn't famous, nobody in imgur would know or give 2 fucks

You're terrible.

Funny how being famous means more people know who you are and are saddened by a tragedy huh?

Why are you guys not all pretend upset by the other much greater tragedies that happened in the last week? Where are the tributes?

If more people knew about how awesome you are they will also be sad for the bad news... stay awesome people.
