Not to be that guy but even if the word war crime still meant something (as nobody will ever hold the US, China, Russia or Israel accountable anyway), the decision to sink the ship instead of capturing would not be one according to law. The war crime part was not rescueing the survivors. That was some real The Hague shit. Not just from Trump. The Uniform Code of Military Justice in the US says soldiers are only to obey lawful commands, lest they become accountable for their actions, too.

Sanders very unfortunately lost both in 2016 and 2020. Nobody prevented him from running. He just didn't get the votes. And that's probably why you don't know how to get rid of Republicans dressed as Democrats. That's what primaries are for. They are elected, all of them. It's not a sports team. I'd say it's ill advised to just believe everything you read online about Democrats. The propaganda peddling regime is peddling propaganda about their political opponents. It shouldn't be a surprise.

Last time I checked it doesn't matter if a member of an enemy navy is armed or not, they are still targets. Also, subs don't hang around and pick up survivors of ships they sink. They did what they were supposed to do and contacted the nearest surface navy (Sri Lanka) to conduct rescue operations. The "precedent" set here is the same one that has been in effect since WW2.
