That guy sure looks angry...!

They seem a bit concerned...

Don`t worry little bunny baby! All will be good..

HOLY MOTHER OF GOOOOD!!!!

Please no! No no! Noooooo!

Turn it off, turn it off! Mom! Please!

.............silent cries.

Dog Tax.

This movie is the source of some horrible childhood memories. Thanks for not reading on the age rating, Mom. Movie is called Watership Down http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078480/

FP EDIT : I need more random things in my inbox. Selfies, random snapshots from your day or what ever <3

EDIT2 : Oh, I also need advice on how to keep those white sneakers white.

It was my grandparents, the same people who had a rabbit hutch and bunnies for us to raise when we were kids. Not a good call.

I am in my forties and still refuse to watch this.

Now to find it somewhere in this house and read it again. One of my favorites!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This came out before the PG-13 rating was a thing. This movie had the same rating as most Disney flicks

Can confirm. Scary.

So it's as "childfriendly" as the Animals of Farthing Wood?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This is my favorite book

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Mine too!! Loved it since I was a child

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That movie was in the children's section of blockbuster. Worst babysitting decision ever.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Although they're rabbits. Like dig a new tunnel if the old ones are all clogged full of dead bodies.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine still call it a children's film, and think we're over reacting when we say it was horrible.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This movie is awesome

Not only did my parents sit me down to watch this wonderful "cartoon about bunnies" as an impressionable 6 year old, they followed up 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Now I love both these cartoons and the books. Good stuff.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/2 with the cartoon adaption of that classic Animal Farm. You know, the "cartoon about the cute farm animals". My parents were interesting.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

i always tell parents of hurtfull/bullying-asshole kids it's kid friendly same with Plague Dogs and GotFf

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It- It's fine. It's just raspberry jam and they're just... Just filming a movie. That's all. They're all friends in real life.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well look at you, all relevant. Congratulations!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

plague dogs as well. i've seen these movies as a kid and it did not really phase me. still creepy though.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Lol, no. I did that shit to myself. Rented it in 9th grade. Not as scarred as a grade schooler, but it still hit with some weight.

My mother took me to see this in the theater when I was about 3. Not just any theater, the big 70mm theater in downtown D.C. But I'm fine.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My aunt did. I read the book afterwards

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I watched this when I was 4. Somehow I wasn't traumatised. Though it was... memorable. Certainly had a lot of depth and impact.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wish they'd make more of the same caliber...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ralph Bakshi's "Wizards" (1978) might be worth a watch.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Plague dogs is another film for the whole family! Same era as watership down

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Doesn't that one open up with a scene of a dog drowning? IIRC the book does, which is why i couldn't read it, couldn't get past that scene

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same animators too.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My mom took me to see that in the theatre when I was 6, she apologised for it being so... unpleasant. I liked and didn't like it.

*Singing*"I don't feel no pain no more. I've left this cruel world behind And I've found my peace of mind. I don't feel no pain no more."

Same author: Richard Adams.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Watched this every other weekend as a young kid. Loved it alongside the cartoon LOTR. Both with John Hurt. Great stuff. Also introduced 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

2/2 my two kids to it this month. Loved it. Spent an afternoon drawing up El-ahrairah in the style of the beginning afterwards.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You ever see "Wizards" (also by Ralph Bakshi, director of the LOTR cartoon)? Also an older anime movie - Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

(directed by Hayao Miyazaki)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haven't seen wizards. Will look it up. Quite the fan of Ghibli though. Thanks for the tip!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Read the book.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Heard of a butchers once that had a sign in their window: "Watership Down. You've read the book and seen the film. Now eat the cast".

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Watershop Down shows rabbits as heroic & valiant characters. Well worth the read... You can then use the word "tharn" in a conversation.

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

Also hrair!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is no time to go tharn!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And hrududu. And silflay. And elil. And hrair.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

and hraka, unless someone knows what it means

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It does a good job at depicting the lives of the characters along with their cultures. It does a lot of reflection on civilization.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a nurse and as a Paramedic I've used it in charting. It's never come back to me for correction.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I now am morbidly curious - what situation would cause a person to go tharn?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is fantastic.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This was a book too and it's, uh, pretty intense.

8 years ago | Likes 179 Dislikes 0

I never saw the movie; My dad had me read the book when i was around 10. It was... uh, pretty intense. Good way to put it. Good book though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"We shall help ourselves to a roof of bones, hung with shining wires! Help ourselves to misery and death!”

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Personally I thought the book was insanely boring.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My dad read me this as a kid and I really don't remember any of this!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He did the William Goldman version, then..

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I read this in the sixth grade. My tragic backstory is now unlocked. Thanks public pick your own book report and old donated books no one Xd

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So is The Plague Dogs. Richard Adams. They're great books.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Yeah same author. He had issues. Great books though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Which is weird because bunnies. The book is really good though!

8 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 0

Great book. Multiple re-reads.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

There was a story in a similar vein about cats called Tailchaser's Song by Tad Williams. Freaking loved both of them.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think I've seen that one, but never picked it up. Might just give it a go on your recommendation, thanks.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now go watch the Brave Little Toaster, with a Happy Tree Friends chaser!

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Watch The Last Unicorn for dessert. It's not nearly so violent, it's just fucked up (hello three-breasted harpy and tit tree of terror)

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Whats wrong with the brave little toaster?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, the scene with the scrapped cars singing about how good life once was while the giant monster chews them all to death was fairly grim

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But I think I'd have to go with the dream sequence where the toaster kills the little boy by burning toast while a demonic clown chases him

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

to eventual death by electrocution

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I need to watch this then lol never seen it when I was a kid
