11.75# of cow.
Probes in....smoker box started...
A little crispy after a fire....
Time to wrap it up...
Done... wrapped in towels and stored in the cooler for an hour before slicing.
Not as much bark....my grill runs way too hot apparently.... pellet smoker inbound... my exceptionally picky kids LOVED it...

Nicely done.

Thanks. Not bad for my first... it only gets better from here.

Need to go way heavier on the “rub”
ImKindaDone
Last night before I went to bed I told my wife I was "going to upstairs and rub my meat then turn in" LOL
ImKindaDone
I'm watching my salt. :)
89PercentSureYoureFibbing
Yeah man don’t use that much salt anyways. Brown sugar, pepper, garlic and salt for the base.
blazinfire
Well obviously this may not effect you if you get a pellet grill. don't expect wood burning smoke flavors.. just enjoy what it does give you
ImKindaDone
I'm going to get a pellet smoker. That's next.

I have a Grilla Grillz Silverbac.. I love it.. was gonna buy a pit boss or something cheaper.. don't regret it.

I hear wrapping in butcher's paper instead of foil gets you better bark
ImKindaDone
Ooh. Gonna try that....
ImKindaDone
While it's still on the fire or after?
SlutAtNight
This is the funniest cooking question ever!
ImKindaDone
Nope. Cause I wrapped it in The foil about two hours before it was done.... can't do that with butcher paper.
mrhollywoog
Can if you're using indirect heat on a smoker, but not on a grill or direct heat.
ImKindaDone
That makes sense. I only have the grill right now.
