So much amazing artwork being sashayed by imgurians at the moment it is a glorious celebration of what practice and skill can accomplish.

However, it is really easy to start comparing your art to other's and think that you're crap and should just stop. You ignore that it is making art that is important and comparing it with the work of others is unhealthy. Other artist's work stops being an inspiration then and becomes criticism.

Because your sketch of a celebrity is a bit wonky and the proportions are off you see other artists as being critical of you...

This is far from true. Artists are not in competition with each other, we are all nervous about our work and are seeking validation. Those of us who have been sharing our stuff for a while have just got used to it.

Remember, your art is an expression of you and you are breathtaking!

I'm not posting because you never know if someone's going to rudely say you're shit. Constructive criticism is good, being a dick is not.

If you genuinely want to post art and have people be nice and supportive try the Sketch a Day app, the community their is really nice.

Thanks! I do crafts and am on groups for them :) I'm just overly emotional at the mo and a cruel throwaway comment would really knock me :)
