"Remember to do what's *right*, over doing what's good."

Mar 27, 2022 2:15 AM

So I've decided to make this a bit of a thing. I've been able to do it on a fairly regular weekly basis so far. I'm told my knowledge pool and google-fu are decent-ish, and I believe knowledge is best when shared. Silly questions get interesting answers, hyper technical questions get an attempt at answers, and sincere questions get sincere answers, and my upvote. Remember when all is said and done, I'm here to learn just as you are, and share what I find.

Answers to the most FAQs so far**:
* The average cruising airspeed velocity of an unladen European Swallow is roughly 11 meters per second, or 24.6 miles an hour. The African swallow is ~8.9 meters per second, or 20.1 miles per hour.
* 42.
* Sorry, I don't have my credit card available at the moment.
* "Why?" Why not?
* "Why not?" Because. Usually.
* "No really, why?" Because you learn a person's true nature through their curiosity.
* "How are you?" I'm alright. https://imgur.com/gallery/j9ALITD
* "What're you up to?" The obvious aside, job hunting. Generally something remote that allows me to help others instead of getting yelled at. (e.g. Customer Service)
* "(Quote from a movie)." Not a question, but that's a good reference.
* "(Quote from a movie that's a question)." (Response in movie to quote. Usually.)
* "Favorite question?" Anything that makes people stop and think, in a good way.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

While there's no quick reference suggesting the total capacity, the average mating session provides 40 pints, or ~19 liters.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So it appears that, much like milk, whales come in quarts.

Well, there is a reason they called it the "Big Bang". It's just on such a scale that humankind is little more than a spark in the dark.

Why do I have sadness inside me?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Without knowing further details, I'd suspect that your effort has not met your goals.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well that is actually right. My effort is a lot but I wasn't always that way. I'm too worried that defines who I am.

What do you think happens when we die?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I maintain an agnostic/pragmatic viewpoint. While I do prefer the thought of Andy Weir's The Egg, I suspect we simply...stop.

If we have all evolved so much that we came from the water…. why have whales and dolphins not evolved to breath under water with gills?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In short, because they started off in water, moved to land, then moved back to water.

Because while they come from the same plant, there's a different process to both. Like the difference between apple juice & cider.

Showers or baths?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The former, then the latter, when I can get away with it. If not, the former. I don't believe in marinating in my own juices.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I take a shower for washing purposes but a bath to relax and stew. Hope you're having a pleasant evening :)

Why should I stay in a terrible situation when staying is the only right choice for other people?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

nah but melanoma doesn't care where it is.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sure but that takes years to kill you, where heat stroke can do it in an inattentive moment.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Because the sunburn is the result of the body trapping the heat, hence they feel "cooler".
