My Good Buddy since High School
we used to play DnD and he's always writing fiction stuff that I'm addicted to reading
OpenRA, a Free game
Agent told me about this game a little while back, and as soon as I found out I could play the game I love in my monitor's native resolution with graphical upgrades and all the same old content I loved... I downloaded it so fast that a wormhole temporarily was created within the internet that caused the site to go down for a day.
Command and Conquer
this is the original Command and Conquer, only runs at 640x480, but I have fond memories of crushing enemies underneath the treads of my mammoth tanks
The Forgotten Race
I wasn't too familiar with the Forgotten as I hadn't played Tiberian Sun that much, however, as I read into them I found them to be absolutely awesome. They're basically mutated by tiberium, (A biological mineral that is what the game is based around) and despite having shortened life spans due to this, they basically turn superhuman for a few years first.
The OpenRA Dev team
this is the IRC, every time I'm stuck on something I'll go in there and tell them about this terrible new error, to which they'll respond "you've got a duplicate line right here" and that's when I facepalm with the force of a thousand suns

Lore - Wall of Text
Agent has written lore on every single unit in the game, except for a couple new ones I've added, and has moved on to writing short stories about The Forgotten Chapter
just a bunch of icons
I've tried to make all the icons from scratch, but a lot of stuff are still placeholders. As it's still in 0.23 it won't be done for some time, but I am always working on it, and getting it patched to the latest actual game version every time a new version comes out so people can play

Eventually I'll have to figure it out, I figured out everything else, and knowing how to edit the DLLs is going to be the only way to add some of the features we're planning to put in.

The New GDI
most of the buildings remain the same,
-Advanced Guard Tower now fires a machine gun
-Vulcan Turret replaces Guard Towers
-Mammoth made as powerful as the balance allows, and costs $3000
-GDI now has combat medics
-Wolverine Prototype added to GDI
The New Nod
-Nod Obelisk fires a burst of lower damage lasers at infantry
-Nod Turret fires lasers instead of cannon shells
-Now they have mechanics
-And The Elite Cadre unit from TS, that may be removed later, or nerfed, or something
-Vehicles unchanged so far, Nod is the faction I've probably done the least to so far
The Forgotten
-Solar Arrays for power
-RA1 Barracks salvaged
-uses Salvage for vehicles
-Radio Tower for Comm Center
-Slab of Concrete (still uses helipad model for now)
-MG nest for defences (crap forgot screenshot of those)
-no other defences yet
-Technicals, WarDozers, and Russian Heavy tanks (explanations in lore)
-Militia instead of Minigunners (or once I'm done, pulse riflemen)
-SMAW troopers instead of locking rockets
-Molotov Militia (most recently added unit)
-Scouts, Run very fast, have low HP, very high view distance, carry sniper rifle
-Combat Engineers, way better than the cnc3 "combat" engineers, but also balanced so as to not be Over Powered

This is awesome :) I'm as huge a fan of the Tiberium universe as Veracity over there, and OpenRA just makes it that much more fun ^_^
