It's driving me crazy. I think enshittification has happened to the top of the cans because I open them the exact same way I always have, and the same way I open their competitor's cans, and the issue is only with the new soda case.
Am I losing my mind or has someone else noticed this about a particular brand that I won't mention here but I'm not shilling their shit for them?

Could be a manufacturing defect. Take the case back to the store and exchange it, getting a different lot. Or return it and go to a different store.

Call the complaint line. Please. There should be coding on the bottom of the can that will help identify when/where this was made.
It's a scoring defect on the end (lid of can). You are likely not the only one experiencing this. Ends are made at the rate of thousands and thousands a minute.
You should at least get a refund check or something back from the company.

I guess it could also be a rivet defect if the tabs are popping off. Either contact them. You should at least get something back to compensate you.

because I'm not an advertiser for there product and if i did mention the name, i'd get some idiot in the comments like "THIS IS AN AD FOR ___________" despite i'm complaining about the product.

Drinking soda from a can? Judgment aside, a friend who worked for a bottling company told me to never do that. He’d seen some things. Use a straw if necessary.

To the people downvoting this. I use to work in a convinence store (think 7-11) and I once spay bug spray on a huge spider that was hiding in a case on beer cans. A lot of it. Do what you will with this information.
