We had a bad couple of windstorms a couple of years ago. We lost power for a week because of it and this is the driveway to my home. Oddly enough this was the only tree down on my property and it fell right in front of my log skidder. Most of the pics are taken from inside it as we work. On the other side of the canyon is where all the wind hit.
Tree that came down on our dump truck. No damage. All of these next pictures are across the canyon from my home at my grandparents.
Trees picked the wrong place to fall. You can see one leaning on our processor which is parked next to the bar saw feller buncher.
Lines are off don't worry. This is deceiving because that is a doug fir that is 30" d.b.h (diameter at breast height). This was just out of my grandparents yard.
Day 1 of the storm. Me and dad working our way to my uncles house you can see all the trees down just over the right side of our old processor.
If you look close on the right you can see the power line hanging down. His power line was broken in 12 seperate spots with 4 broken poles.
Little farther down the same road. Met my uncle in his excavator (left). This is a post shot. It took us 4 hours to work through this stretch.
We had a second storm come through about a month later and brought down more trees than the first. This is dad removing a second tree off of our poor dump truck.
Road to the neighbors through my grandparents property. They live about 1 mile away and it took us a sold 1 1/2 days just for us to just to open the road enough they could get a vehicle through. This is us now going down the road and piling all of the down trees into drags for me to take a log deck to get worked up.
Dog tax. Helga Hufflepup aka Smelga standing on one of our drags.
