#10 not a bad solution, although I have one I prefer more. Tie your shoe laces together, then wrap them around a long implement. I usually use a wrench but things like rulers, spatulas, or even a sturdy stick will do. Then I drape the laces over my dryer's door so that the shoes hang inside and the wrench is on the outside and latch it shut. If the amount of slack on the laces is correct, they'll hang in the dryer without touching the drum. Then turn it on and let them dry w/o rattling around.

#15 reminds me of the ram air intake I put on my moped. I had to make it adjustable because at speed it was building too much pressure and reducing fuel delivery from the carb. It seriously bumped up my speed from ~40mph to ~55mph. Downsides were that the engine was never meant to go 9,000+rpm and the magneto generated too much power which blew out all the lights. Also brakes for a moped were never meant to bring it down from 55mph.

Isn't there a 60 vs 50Hz aspect that may cause problems if that monstrosity hold together.
