"Where did you learn to keep to yourself and assume that you're a nuisance to everyone and nobody wants you around?" – "I grew up with several older sisters."

I was the yongest and only boy, with 4 older sisters. Survival was key.

I guess it's fun to flip it around like that, but as a kid who fought his siblings, you learn to go real easy on only children trying to prove themselves. I'm not sure what to make of the "chess/crying/dress=can't defend themselves" idea either.

It doesn't actually say the person is female. Or am I missing something?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It doesn't, but it's a question commonly asked to women in fiction.

Eh, I can see it being played out either way. Nothing says it has to be only one way.

Even politics aside every good writer loves subverting overused tropes. Different = Interesting = Good.

Good take

Well, Daenerys becoming a crazy genocidal murderer was not expected by most and definitely not enjoyed. Same with so many characters in the last season of GoT who didn’t have a satisfying conclusion to their arcs.

I actively try to avoid the "widowed/divorced single mom returns to her home town and realizes that something is wrong..." tropes. I'm tired of those plots.

What fascinates me is how certain people respond to such fictions as if they are real

"This fiction is fiction" is typically the least fascinating observation that can be made about any piece of fiction so people have learnt to not bother so they can focus on the more interesting parts of the presented scenario.

I mean, not always. Sporks are different and can be good. Spife, not so much

"No-one will expect us to kick the viewer in the crotch! Expectations subverted!"

Some would pay extra for that though

"Where did you learn to cut up cakes into exactly equal portions like that?" "I grew up with three brothers."

1 year ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 1

Honestly , 2 or 4 brothers would be much more impressive.

1 year ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

It takes a moment to realize what you meant by that. Brilliant.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah, halving stuff is pretty much foolproof

Seven slices for seven brothers!

Again! Trivial!

Women beating up people is what gives you "hope for humanity"?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 9

Strong women capable of defending against oppressors gives me hope. It's disappointing that your mindset leads you to the worst interpretation of this exchange.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

With you having a Problem with hatefull assholes getting beaten...i maybe have bad news for you

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I beg you to learn how to fucking read

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

How are you interpreting this? It clearly says that the scenario is that a woman is beating up people for her brothers, and then the response says the post gives them hope for humanity.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Yeah because assholes apparently need a beating. Internet made to many people think they can be assholes and hatefull against others without catching a fist.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You think the bright future of humanity is people beating the shit out of other people more often? That's fucked up.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Ah you want to say that you can't read this well and we shouldn't use such complicated sentences, no worries you will learn over time

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Where does it say they are female?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

...the post? It says, whenever there is a FEMALE character who fights....

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The COMMENT says female. The original post does NOT.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

They're both in the post genius. The post is a picture of 2 comments.

You failed at reading comprehension, didn't you. You are literally too stupid to deal with. Go crawl back under your rock.
