TLDR: Cat escaped 4 1/2 months ago and has been spotted, trap is set to try to recover said fur beast.
My buddy got out back in April, we had not seen a trace of him since then. I was never particularly concerned about his ability to survive since he lived as a stray for about 2 years before we adopted him. This week we've spotted him 4 times in the last 6 days in the same spot, but I haven't been able to get close to him due to tightly packed trees and lots of noisy branches on the ground. Since we've finally got a bead on him I went to the local animal control office and rented a humane trap. Got it stocked with a full can of tuna and some fresh water, set in the same spot I've seen him at.
Now it's time to go check the trap again. Wish me luck again folks

Mmmm opossums love their tuna, might wanna keep an eye on that trap or you may have a different fur beast as a pet soon.

Would be hilarious if he got his own place and just decided to ghost on you.

Just to clarify; you're cat ran off on you, you've seen him a handful of times and it hasn't come back so you're trying to trap it. Has it 1

Home, you're kind of in a stalemate aren't ya? 3

Occurred to you that the cat doesn't want the sedentary life? You can't turn an outdoor into an indoor, and if you can't trust it to come 2

@OP I hope you get your cute kitteh back. My kitteh Bandit was missing for 4 days last week and when he came home he was lethargic for days

He is finally back to his normal self which means being an asshole like cats love to do. Also we fed him wet food the whole time and now
Badsequence
he meows his head off at the cupboard where we stored the wet food expecting to get more and he turns his nose up at the dry food.
