You'd think that grown adults would learn to take turns and share, right? No, No you are wrong and you should feel bad. A few times throughout this year, I have been called to deal with arguing members who believe that their membership grants some sort of status boost within the warehouse. Executives are NOT above gold stars and buisiness members are not above executives. Yet for some reason, a small percentage of our members believe this. This summer, duing our garden center sale, two members got into a fight over an apple tree (one that we were getting more of soon). when I got there with a manager, the only thing we heard was: "WHAT MEMBERSHIP DO YOU HAVE?? MINE IS BLACK! I DON'T CARE IF YOU GOT HERE FIRST I PAY MORE TO SHOP HERE THIS IS MY RIGHT." Customer number 2 on the other hand seemed fairly calm about the situation. Mostly because she figured she was getting the tree anyway (She was right). While the manager helped the rolling typhoon of rage, I helped the other member get her tree and leave the store. The angry member got a free chicken. The same type of situation happened a few months later, but with a parking spot.. Long story short, it didn't end so well and fists were thrown. thankfully they fought like wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube men and neither really got hurt.

I still don't understand the membership thing. You pay money to be able to pay money? Not an American here.

Dunno how you do it, a job like this would eventually make me hate people

I go to costcos every day. I see how the holidays wear the employees out. Glad I dont deal with the general public that closely anymore.

Can’t your buy liquor without a membership there?

Yeah the law is that they can’t sell to members only. I don’t think most people know that. Everyone flashes the card and then they tell them

Is the pharmacy different? I got some anemia meds for my cat from Costco sans membership. Only place in the Bay Area that stocked it!

Pharmacy and Liquor store... law is they can’t only sell to members as far as I know. Most people don’t know that though

Saw "Refunds"; I work as a cash dolly in a slots arcade. Some people expect their £1 back when they don't win £500 on the first drop /1

/2 and then kick off and tip machines over when we don't just GIVE them a healthy wad of notes. I've learned the general public are dicks...

I heard that one is able to shop there without a card by saying to the door person that they just want to go buy a gift card for a friend (1

then going inside, getting a gift card, returning later to say, "I was given this gift card but don't have a membership" and then using (2)

That gift card to make a purchase. How legitimate is that?
