Boy George Santos has been indicted on charges of wire fraud, money laundering, stealing public funds and lying on federal disclosure forms. The latter can result in up to 5 years and a fine of $250,000. I suspect the ploy to become a Congressman may not be as profitable as Santos hoped.

From the NYT: Second, an unemployment insurance fraud scheme: Prosecutors say that in June 2020, in the early months of the Covid-19 pandemic, Santos applied for government assistance in New York, even though he was at the time employed by a Florida-based investment firm and drew an annual salary of $120,000.
