Back in the '60s, Dad had a 100ft gin-palace, we used to hook up with it in St Tropez, and cruise around for a few week in the summers. Seemed ridiculous to pre-teen me, a hotel would have been so much more comfortable.

I always think it's much more fun to stay at a nice hotel and then rent a fun boat for a day or two. Best of both worlds. You don't have to be super rich. And you don't have to take care of a boat which is both ridiculously expensive and annoying.
