What's the long term plan here after this rogue action?

Oh, look, they don't have one. Because they don't plan. They didn't learn from looking at 100 years of modern wars involving the USA. The didn't learn from just the last few.

As for planning, this is an administration that not once, but twice, shot down friendly, non-threatening domestic aircraft because they can't even coordinate two government agencies.

Maybe if they fire some more senior military leaders it will go better for them /S.
