Although I'm in Manitoba, I'm looking to buy a used vehicle from someone in St. Paul, MN. I think I've got a friend of a friend lined up to be my proxy and go kick the tires/take a test drive. If things are cool, the truck needs to go in for an inspection. So, I'm looking for suggestions of certified/reliable auto shops in/around St. Paul for the vehicle inspection.
Here's the crux of the problem, the seller's first language is Spanish (which is an issue already b/c I'm monolingual), and I absolutely need to ensure I'm not risking the seller is exposed to ICE bullshit, OR people who might inform ICE about the seller. I need to make sure he's protected, so I'm looking for some assistance.
I think our proxy dude lined up in St. Paul should know the lay of the land, but I can't be sure, so I thought I'd throw it out into usersub, see what comes back. Get as much info as I can.
The only socials platform I use is imgur and I don't have a smartphone, so other than news reports, I'm not sure where to get accurate/up to date information on safe zones/safe businesses around St. Paul. I know the jackboots are currently targeting the Somali community, but that's the breadth of my knowledge.
So, what's up, how do I pull this off without putting the seller at risk? Help me, Obi-Filthy-Animal-Kenobi's, you're my only hope.
