Artist Léa Matte drew this off-hand.  It's scathingly PERFECT and also adorable.

I love digital artists and the art they create, and I 100% fucking loathe AI.

HUGE difference between the hours spent mastering textures and composition and color balancing as a human artist* versus seconds asking an art thief hunk of software to regurgitate something.

If anyone has a better "elevator pitch" for explaining that to the masses, please let me know. This shit is exhausting.

~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~

*a love letter & call to action from my fellow artists*

I say this as a traditional artist with love in my heart for digital creators.

It doesn't matter what media you use (digital or traditional) a tool is a tool and skills are skills. Queens, Kings, Theydees and Gentlethems, all y'all are SMASHING it.

And for those of you thinking "I'm not good enough" - we ALL were there.
Some of us, even the commercially successful folks, still feel there.
Pick up your tools and play. Learn. Create.
Grow yourself. We need you.

We NEED artists and musicians and dreamers and the Defiant.
For all the usual valid reasons, and several urgent extra ones.

We need the creativity. We need the angular thinking.
Hope is resistance. Let's go be resistant as fuck.
Let Art prompt people to become unGovernable.

Or at least give them a breather from the fight.

Hugs and apologies from Canada's Pants / Mexico's Hat

I actually think this is great, not "even this is better", but genuinely good. It's not lack of talent as much as it uses a specific style choice to project a ton of personality. If it was perfect it'd be just another one of millions of cat pictures on the internet.

I'd say it's better than AI 'art' in so many ways.

Completely devoid of braincell.

I do daily doodles on post it notes and they are so crap that not even AI is able tl reproduce it. Only us humans can make shit so pure

scribbles and doodles and other quickie art has merit

and, sometimes, incredible commercial value

Humans take in other people's art. They copy it, then slowly begin to do their own thing (or else never do, tons of comics w a similar look)

And this is different from AI only in your mind. You're like the Christian who is sure his religion is the right one, because you were born in it.

My brother is an artist and he never copied shit. He studied anatomy books to learn skeletal structure and anatomy. This was when we were kids. He was like, 6, studying our dad’s EMT books.
He used them to create everything from knights to zombies. Today, he’s an exceptional artist. Your rhetoric and reasoning is regurgitated and trite. Nothing more than 2D weak sauce.

Do they ship internationally (if you know), or just in Canada? I couldn't find any confirmation either way on the site.

I do not know. Right now I can't be spendy, so I didn't look into it. I do love the art, so I wanted to get her name / art out.

Even the most deviant, poorly-draw-in-MSpaint sonic fetish fanart, congealing in the vilest and most disturbed corner of the internet is superior to AI 'art.'

This on the other hand is magnificent because it has soul and life in its boggling, multidirectional eyes.

Even a stick figure from a toddler is better than AI art

Spoken as someone that's truly seen what the sonic fanart contains
