"From now on, the business card of every employee of the Russian embassy must honour the Ukrainian heroes. And everyone who writes a letter to the embassy must think of the victims of Russian aggression and the heroes of Ukraine"

We need to pressure the 5 cities in US with russian consulates to do something like this. DC, Houston, Seattle, San Francisco, New York

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Do stuff like this at all Russian embassies and consuletes but with diff street addresses/names. "Putin likes deek up pupe shooter avenue".

In Hungary the goverment want a Chinese university (and an obvious spy hub). Opposition mayor named the road leading there:

The road of uighur martyrs.

My brother & his wife are on their way to Vilnius rn. I'm not comfortable w/ them being so close. I usually don't worry about his travels

There is a petition to do this in Warsaw, too.

Helsinki proposed to change the street where the Russian embassy is on to "Volodymyr Zelenskyi Street".

There's a municipal initiative but that means nothing yet. https://www.kuntalaisaloite.fi/fi/aloite/25487

The Iranians changed the street name the British Embassy is on in Tehran from Winston Churchill St to Bobby Sands St in 1981.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The British then moved the entrance to the Embassy to another street.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

People are dying and we are changing street names. Do you think Putin will care or even know?? These are empty gestures.

USSR and this bullshit attempt at USSR v2 have affected a lot of people. This isn't just about Putin's feelings.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If Putin didn't care about the optics of his war, he wouldn't be shutting down independent media in Russia and arresting protesters

4 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

In Riga (Latvia) the Russian embassy is now located on the "Ukrainian Independence Street".

Even Dr. Doom thinks Putin is overplaying things.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I've got a horrible feeling I'm going to waste a lot of money posting them letters from overseas laughing at their new address

4 years ago | Likes 236 Dislikes 0

"Dear idiots, I bet your new address makes you feel pretty stupid now..."

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

They did it in Prague, Boris Nemtsov square. The embassy used old street name and then changed the main gate to another street.

The russian chivalric tales of the Bogatyr all stem from kievan russ, and Kiev, Odessa, and Sevastopol were all made Hero cities of-

the USSR. Renaming a street to that can easily be repurposed to fit the Russian Mythos. It's not a great Jab.

Ukrainian Heroes is though

€0.39 for a stamp? In Ireland, it's €1.25. Soon it'll be cheaper to go into Dublin to personally deliver dogshit to the Russian Embassy.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Acktsually, it's €2.20 to Lithuania. Rises to 7 quid to send a packet of sunflower seeds. (Emotionally, it's still 27p to me!)

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Mate now my mental picture is someone just holding their dog up against a letter slot at the embassy

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Good boy

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

have been trying to find the history of the name of the street in dublin but no luck so far. can't be a coincidence

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Orwell House is on maps from 19C so unlikely a ref to George. https://digital.ucd.ie/view/ucdlib:40881 . Lovely piece in the Irish Times>

Denmark want's to do the same thing. While funny, it doesn't really do anything USEFUL for Ukraine.

4 years ago | Likes 107 Dislikes 21

If I ever were to say something so foolish, I hope it would at least be accompanied by a link to something that does something useful.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Counter-propaganda. May inform people of the situation that would otherwise have little ways to know.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I think weve learned that PsyOps, mythos and morale play very important roles in winnin a war. This demoralizes Russia and emboldens Ukraine

4 years ago | Likes 156 Dislikes 0

Punching dictators and toadies in the proverbial dick (i.e. ego) seems useful

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Piercing the propaganda curtain is the only way Ukraine can win

4 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Knowing that others support you is amazingly useful when you are going through hell.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Are you sure about that?

4 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

Yes. We think what we are, it to me, is sticking it to Putin , it shows our support and outrage. I’m just saying

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

I disagree: one of Putin's motivations is to restore Russia's prestige and position as a superpower. Anything that pokes holes in that pride

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

... tells him that he's failing and that we're not scared of him, or his attempt at recreating a Russian empire. This will piss him off.
