Sharing one of my all time fav posts that I keep handy when I need to restore my hopes for a better America. Hopes for a country once again based on the constitution and not greed. As 20 year USN Vet, I am embarrassed by what the current administration has done, but have faith that we will endure.

That’s my governor! Vive la résistance!!! 💪

Believe them when they tell you who they are. Only sociopaths or psychopaths could unironically utter phrases like "do not commit the sin of empathy" or "the fundamental weakness of western culture is empathy" or "i can't stand empathy. It's a made up new age word" They are screaming it. They are literally different species.

That man's name is JB Pritzker:

That's JB, not JD.

TL;DR

I know that's true because I sometimes have to pause and think how I'm reacting to something

Another way to spot an idiot is with paintballs. With several friends, you can get them covered in spots before they can do anything

"Let me explain" is the worst thing to put in a speech because if you just leave it out and explain, everyone will know you have explained. They do not need to know that beforehand. The proof that it's the worst thing to put in a speech is the fact that literally literally every "AI" loves to use it.

Sorry, in context it means "don't react yet, consider these thoughts before you do" and it fits perfectly because of knee-jerk reflex reactions of lesser minds. Also the fact that a model trained specifically to produce appealing information uses a technique speaks to the exact opposite of your claim. I'm intelligent enough to acknowledge reality regardless of how much I loathe LLMs. Don't let your hate turn you into a moron.

I don't think so... Randomly inserting "as the great poet Hitler once said" in a speech would make it very confusing and thus much worse.

Yeah, but he's still behind Newsom in the polls. He needs to do something more.

He doesn't need to do more, the voters do. What he does happens after election.

Ugh. I'm very concerned that Newsome will be the nominee. He's very not good, except he knows how to deal with a bully. Nearly every other quality he has is a negative.

You won't ever have a perfect candidate. Moderate and left-leaning voters have to learn to be pragmatic.

That's an exaggeration bro

It's really not.

It really is.

It takes a very cruel person to become a billionaire, but to be born into it you only have to be lucky, I suppose. No good billionaires, but JB isn't high on the list of evil.

No good billionaires - Warren Buffet?

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Is he still a billionaire?

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh God no. Neither Bill Gates.

Bill Gates was an absolute cut throat sonofabitch when he was building MS up. His foundation, and his personal advocacy are dedicated to eradicating diseases and improving the developing world - great.

Not so great if you look further into it. He uses it to exert and increase his power. His behavior shows that this is his main motivation.

Charity let's them decide what's 'important for society' according to their own goals. As opposed to paying fair taxes and letting society decide what it needs. Plus, who's the recipient of his giving? His own personal charity. So the money never totally leaves his hands. It's just another step in control.

Taylor Swift simply made a fuck ton of songs that everyone loved and sold them to a fuck ton of people. She then held concerts where she took steps to ensure scalpers couldn't step in as middle men and held in reserve some low cost tickets at every show for fans. She paid her tour staff roughly double market pay rates plus gave them half of all profit. If every billionaire got to their billion dollars that way, no one would cate about them.

Unfortunately there's different types of idiots, another type are ones that judge a person based on a single factor. Like someone having a lot of money, despite doing good, will always still be bad. As some of the replies to your post shows. Always making excuses.

She also routinely tries to steal the spotlight from other artists, going as far as releasing music the same day they do to compromise their success. She's a nepobaby and not a good person.

1 month ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Yes but Swift was also a huge nepo baby too. Multimillionaire record producer father with strong ties to the industry when she was first starting out. Thats not to deny her efforts or her hustle, just pointing out that she kinda started on 3rd base compared to many others.

She got to the top through her family's wealth, and I guarantee that it wasn't gained through kindness

1 month ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Frankly, fuck her still. That's more money than she can use, and it isn't more money than poor people can use. She's generous atop her mountain of gold, but she still lives on a mountain of gold so high that normal people can't even see what it's like to live there. She's not an evil billionaire, but she is a billionaire, and that's inherently hoarding resources she isn't using from people who could use it. Rationalize it all you need to, but it's not right no matter how you look at it.

" and that's inherently hoarding resources she isn't using from people who could use it." Bullshit. She doesn't have a pile of gold ingots [ok, maybe she does, a small pile...] - when we're talking wealth on this scale, they're imaginary numbers. Stock prices. Projected future earnings. She doesn't have twenty granaries filled to the brim which are simply going to rot.

You're stuck in a mindset which is a few centuries out of date.

She either has money or she doesn’t and that money is either worth something or it isn’t.

Are you 14 years old?

Her estimated net worth doesn't mean "this many physical dollars in a bank vault". It includes the predicted value of her catalog going forward, among other things.

Literally every word you typed demonstrates you have no business commenting on finance.
