31 Days of Horror films. 28/31

Continuing my Spooky Season horror film watch for every day of October. I'm going to try to see things I've missed over the years but will probably see a few classics and personal favorites along the way.

Last night’s film was The Babadook (2014) available on Pluto, Sling, Roku, Plex, streaming rentals, and physical media.

The Babadook (2014) basic plot description: A woman realizes having a kid sucks when her sons fear of a monster from a creepy book turns out to be warranted.

I put this one off for a long time thanks to the screaming tantrums of the kid in all the previews but I ended up enjoying it after all. It’s an effective allegory for loss and grief manifesting as demons in our life as well as a good horror film with an inventive creature.

For my meaningless rating, I give it a rumbling sound, then three sharp knocks.
