Warhammer: The Horus Heresy Blackshields

So I am working on a project for The Horus Heresy. I am doing the building and then I'll be passing the models off for commission painting later in the new year. In the recent release of rules for Blackshields (Space Marine Orphans essentially) we were given an option to run a unit of nothing but non-named characters.

My take on the Alone and Forgotten archetype is that I have a bunch of survivors from Isstvan V and a couple of other vagabonds who band together to stick it to Horus. Here are the current conversions I've done and their character descriptions.

This is Omael, Moritat of the Raven Guard, 9th Chapter. This is the work I started for converting my very own Warcrimes commander, the Legion Moritat. I chose to go with dual plasma pistols (waiting on a right handed pistol to arrive in the mail)

This is my Armistos, Brother Kael of the Ultramarines and a survivors of Calth. I wanted to go with a non-traditional heavy weapon, Missile Launchers don't see a lot of play because they're not very good. Being into the Narrative, I wanted something that looked cool, regardless of the rules.

This is Demitrios. He's a centurion of the lost legions. He hasn't a clue to which legion he once belonged and has only recently awoken from stasis to find the galaxy in flames and the call from Terra for aid.

This is Atticus Crux, Centurion of the Raven Guard 6th Chapter. He is a survivor of the Dropsite massacre.

This is Holdal II, Centurion of the Imperial Fists 155th Company. He was serveing as fleet liaison to Ferrus Manus and was instrumental in helping some of the survivors of the betrayal escape the system.

This is Lunatus Mericus, Centurion of the Iron Warriors 53rd Grand Battalion. He was thoroughly disgusted with the betrayal and switched sides during the massacre, trying to help whoever he could.

This is Dramian Drask, Centurion of the 33rd Assault Company of the World Eaters. He had his Nails removed, as such he's severely brain damaged. He still has enough sense left to fight against his former brothers and his father for their betrayal.

I have three more characters to build before I send them all off to the painters. When completed these 10 models will serve as my list for Zone Mortalis games. I'm really looking forward to seeing them all painted up in their legion colors.
