cyberpunk psychological thriller anime with a cool looking gun.
The Dominator. The website is listed in this gif.
Even the fake cosplay ones look cool.
I can't afford it, ever, and the prices will only get higher.
My pay stays the same.
In fact, I am selling my house to get out of debt and will be relying on family for a few months..... Our current timeline is no good, but it's not as bad as Psycho-Pass yet.

Remindes me of the service weapon from control

what is fantastic about this anime is that Sibyl has no agency in the physical world and the government of dystopia Japan knows its dangerous to give it real agency. none of the security drones under its control are equipped with anything more than stun rods. It does have complete control over the dominators but doesn't want the humans to know that so that they carry them around. The whole anime is a wonderful example of how insidious an ai control system can be.

the next best example i can think of is season 3 of west worlds Rehoboam system.

*correction* I forgot that a Sibyl hive mind is inside of the head of Ministry of Welfare Public Safety Bureau's Criminal Investigation Department. She is a fully robotic body that a Sibyl brain rides around in. She has decreased compute capabilities when in this form and requires a direct link back to the main hivemind. Regardless from a functional standpoint Sibyl cannot directly kill people or interact with it physically. It has to manipulate people to get things done.

The way they handled the philosophy of the entire show in season 1 was incredible, I thought

agreed the whole anime is a *chef kiss* and a wonderful vehicle for exploring the morality and philosophical underpinnings of a techno-authoritarian world

But then there's moments like "His psycho pass is unchanged while he's killing that person!" And you can't help but wonder 'Did they not test this system on any actual psychopaths or sociopaths?'
Acceptable suspension of disbelief, just the ONE thing that always stood out to me as odd.

I always took it as Sibyl wanting to kill that person because it is made up of the brains of psychopaths and homicidal sociopaths and the human investigators and society at large had been brainwashed into accepting the ruling because if the god like "Ai" that governs their society says that person needs to die for the greater good who are they to question. especially if questioning is cause for your psychopass to drop in hue
