So...I’m a nurse at small (overcrowded) county jail. We are still doing visitation because “It’s non-contact.” Yes. It is. For the inmates. The nurses and DO’s still have to go out, take temps, and do an assessment, then we come back in to finish our jobs behind the doors. We have complained about the risk, explaining that some people show no symptoms, but it falls on deaf ears. As an “essential” employee, I’m so frustrated. As a nurse, even more so. I have more than enough time to take off, but I can’t bring myself to do it. It would leave our other nurses at more risk. I’m honestly considering letting my kids stay with my parents so I don’t risk exposing them (they are 14&12). I don’t get it. Why are people so stupid!?!? Ok. Rant over. Stay safe, y’all. ❤️
