So every year my lemon trees get infested with this bug. Does anyone know what it is and any ideas to help control it. I'm fairly certain that it was the reason that one lemon tree died last year. The bug appeared two years ago and infesting one tree primarily. By the time I realised what was going on it had done too much damage and the tree died. They either poison the tree or suck the life from it because they don't appear to harm it but while they are on the plant it starts to die.

They have infested my aloe plant in the past as well.

Any one have a clue what these pests are.

Scale. Squish all of those fuckers till there are none left. Make a sticky barrier near the base of the trunk.

What do you mean by stick barrier?

Sticky, so they can't climb back up the trunk. They come from the soil. Two-sided tape should work.

Thanks I will do that and hopefully they won't come back.
