Where to start..... TL;DR at the bottom.
So I was driving home after another lovely 12hr day at work. My commute home was about an hour, so I was jamming out to some tunes. Dancing motions demonstrated above.
Almost home, literally at the last 4 way stop before my neighborhood. I do my full and complete stop and start my left turn. The car directly across from me was indicating that they too would be turning left. So we could both make our turns and be on our merry way. But they decided about 7 feet into the intersection that a left turn was just too hard and that a right turn would be easier on their directionally challenged mind.
Needless to say we came to a Mexican standoff in the intersection. I was 1/2 way through my turn, but came to a stop to avoid any issues, like the one noted above. The other driver stopped too. I went ahead and continued my turn, giving my car a spirited shot on the gas pedal to clear the intersection and get away from the other car.
Well I chirped my tires a few times exiting the intersection. And with my stellar luck, a CHP was posted up on the street I was turning on.
WHOOP WHOOP, THATS DA SOUND OF DA PO-LICE.
License and Registration, please.
Now, let me pause our story time to fill you in on an important fact: I have a CCW permit and carry regularly. By law, I have to disclose this info to a police officer if I'm ever contacted. Unpause.
I get him the papers and inform him of my situation. His face went from tan to snow drift white. And his tone immediately went from routine to concerned.
He asked me to step out of the car, and relieved me of my weapon. Which he was totally within his rights to do so. I had no problem with this and was happy to comply. Told him where it was, hands on the car, and he took it back to his cruiser.
I figured if I made his job as easy and stress free as possible, I would not be given a ticket "for exhibition of speed" as he called it.
I was watching in my rear view as he ran my info, my permit, my gun, my carnitas taco recipe, and today's winning lotto numbers.
His partner rolled up as well during all this. I could see them checking out my gun with much detail and interest. Maybe they were cleaning it for me?
After what seemed like an eternity he came back with my papers and handgun.
He asked if I had a reason for my speed. I asked if he saw the other car in the intersection. He was pretty honest and said "no, I only looked up because I heard you."
Well I laid out what happened. Apologized for causing a ruckus and dropped in the line that I could literally see my garage door from where we had stopped.
He laughed and said he noticed that on my license. "Here's your stuff. Don't load it until I leave. I like your gun by the way. Have a nice evening."
I told him to have a good one and went home to have me some tacos.
All in all, I would have to say it was a good day.
TL;DR : got pulled over for avoiding an accident while legally carrying a gun, shenanigans ensue, no ticket and I had me some tacos for dinner.

Good to see positive stories about interactions with Police. Good job on not getting shot OP.
