31 Days of Horror films. 27/31

Continuing my Spooky Season horror film watch for every day of October. I'm going to try to see things I've missed over the years but will probably see a few classics and personal favorites along the way.

Last night’s film was Drag Me to Hell (2009) available on Peacock, Prime, streaming rentals, and physical media.

Drag Me to Hell (2009) basic plot description: A bank employee trying to get a promotion denies an old woman her request for an extension on her home loan. Feeling shamed, the old woman confronts her and places a curse on her to be dragged to hell in three days.

Getting close to the end of the 31 days I wanted to be sure to get in a Sam Raimi film and went with this over any of the Evil Dead because it’s been a long time since I’ve seen it. It’s an absolute bonkers mix of humor and horror done only as Sam Raimi can pull off with his signature style. The film is a nonstop ride of crazy set pieces, effective jump scares, and building tension with the expected Raimi visual flair.

For my meaningless rating, I give it an ice skate and anvil.
