Oh Hi, I didn't see you there.
Before we delve into this obviously thoroughly entertaining and brimming with razor sharp wit part of the story, if you are not au fait with Part 1, please check this out http://imgur.com/a/Wxezr don't worry about falling behind, I will wait for you, take all the time you need.
So, where were we?
Ah yes, 3 Englishman plan crazy adventure. drive crazy distances, 30 days, 10,000 miles, heal the world, make it a better place, for you and.. etc.
Since then, there has been the odd setback...
and a makeover...
and a late arrival to the party...
But here we are
Pete with 'Smurfette', Alex with 'Keira' and Dudley with 'Harley' (yes, Harley Quinn, how could I not with the colour scheme? :D)
beginning to whipping up a media storm.. well, media breeze
Thank you so very much to Priya and Malcolm at The News for following this story.. Page 3, woot woot. you can also see the online version here http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/jack-inspires-the-american-job-1-6593678
here is the route mentioned in the story
What do you reckon? Fun huh? that is doable in 30 days.. right? right? :)
get to the point, Englishman.
We are not rich men, if we were Jack would have been on a plane a long time ago. On my previous adventures I have been fortunate enough to run into some darn fine people and the insights local people have about their country that we wouldn't see otherwise. We are looking to couchsurf/camp for the most part so if there is anyone out there with the space who thinks they can help... Well we would be delighted to hear from you.
Is there a road we just have to drive?
nothing too uneven, surface wise but picturesque and fun suggestions would be great :) So far, the West Coast is where the most suggestions have some from, can Atlantic match Pacific? Or will a central suggestion take our award for best driving road? You can help us with that :)
Just for clarification in case you are thinking.. hmmmm, this is the internet and people lie.
I want to put your mind at ease right now. As mentioned in the newspaper article any donations we happen to receive along the way will 100% be going to Jack and his family. Alex, Pete and myself have each paid for this out our own pocket and I am personally not looking for your money. That will NOT change and please check out our justgiving page to see how we are getting on https://www.justgiving.com/theamericanjob/
what is in it for you?
I, OP will endeavour to keep you updated, entertained and engaged throughout it all. We all have some really fun ideas we hope to make a reality and share with you over the upcoming months. For now we have a twitter @theamericanjob and a facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/260740510740173/ we would love to have you ride with us :)
Next time on 'TheAmericanJob'
The roller coaster ride continues as we meet some of the participants in this little plan and find out a little more about what makes them tick as well as a snippet into a couple of fun things we have planned. I bet you cant wait, but you will have to, because that is the way the world works. Get their interest and leave them wanting more... muahahahhaahahahahahahahhaha.. ahem.
Bonus 'seductive'/daftpunkAlex photo, for the ladies/gents/minifetishists...
If you are new to our adventure, Welcome, welcome. If not, you are also welcome, but then you knew that already.

When driving through Ohio, you could take 62E through Columbus, up to 30E which will take you into Pittsburgh, right through Amish country!

Reenter the US at Sault Ste. Marie, MI and drive along the southern coast of Lake Superior instead of the northern coast.

thank you for the tip, we have had a very nice contact from Minneapolis (of course :D) mini club so that works perfectly. Have a good one :)

Instead of going through the North US, go from Vancouver to Winnipeg then down into the US. Better scenery and good people.
secretagentman
that was the initial thought, I adore BC and Alberta but the chances are the cars would not make it through especially if the spring is late
