To whomever concerned, engineer or any trade responsible for this fucking piece of shit's wholly inadequate anchoring system: FUCK YOU!

Clearly you have never had to install one of these in real life because it's an ordeal on the order of a root canal performed via jackhammer while costing hundreds of dollars to buy and only being legally usable for about 4-5 years (at least in Canada).

If anyone with the necessary contacts or knowledge want to crowd source a toddler seat with a simple, easy and truly effective anchoring system, hit me up, I'll invest in a goddamned heartbeat, and so will any dad who ever had to rupture their colon straining on these giant middle fingers of a product.

Most mechanics are happy to help you install these

2 hours in a walmart parking lot yelling at this carseat getting looks from everyone that passed by screw this car seat in particular!

In the US, most fire stations will help you properly install a child's car seat!

Ever heard of isofix? Takes max. 30 seconds to mount/dismount. Solid, reliable, standardized.

Thanks!

That particular seat is one of the easiest I've ever installed. Not that I disagree about a ratchet, but complain much?

Second: yeah of course I'm complaining much, it's a rant about a clearly 1st-world problem. :)

First: do you have any particular trick to tightening the straps without straddling it and straining beast-style?

I guess I'm just good at straddling and straining beast-style. Seriously though, I really don't know any tricks to speak of.

Mine goes in pretty easily a strap in the top and one in the bottom

Maybe my rant wasn't clear: it's not putting the straps in place, it's tightening them which is a pain in the ass.

I am guessing you dont have ISOfix in your car. Or you could chekck out the "Besafe" line of carseats. Incredibly easy to use.

I am able to put in a Besafe seat in less than 2 minutes. And I am currently struggling with a damaged back and shoulder.
