Iron Harvest is a 'diesel punk' RTS game set in an alternate WW1, the World of 1920+.

During the iron production rush before WW1, mankind invented mechs run on diesel engines and used those in the war.

These machines became part of not just the military but everyday life.

The games features will be as follows:

Unlike some other RTS titles, there will be an emphasis on clever thinking over speed. Giving you time to think instead of being zerg rushed every five seconds.

The game will feature a full 20~ hour campaign following three factions. Each faction will have 3 heroes for a total of 9 playable heroes.

All terrain will be destructible. This means the battlefield will constantly be changing and new routes or sight lines can be opened up.

The game will feature buildings and fortifications to protect your means of production.

With many mechs at your disposal and infantry until being able to equip different weapons there will be an interesting army roster available.

Here's some screenshots of the game so far.

Iron Harvest is live on Kickstarter until the April 14th and is almost funded after 2 days. The game will be available on PC on Steam or GoG, PS4 and Xbox 1. If you're interested in supporting this game like I am the link is here:

To address any confusion it is based off the board game Scythe.
Art and universe by Jakub Rózalksi.

i've never been a big steampunk fan, but that shit looks dope

Love the Polish Eagle symbol on the mechs.

awesome! reminds me of ring of red! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_of_Red

Someone copy-pasted their whole Kickstarter page...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Been a fan of the artist behind it for some time, pretty excited about the game.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Would be really cool with Titan Fall devs did a collab with these guys.

The same artist and universe also have a really good board game called Scythe. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/169786/scythe

#6 looks awfully like the Tallboys from Dishonored.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So this is basically an advertisement, right?

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Yeah, and the Imgur community eats it all up.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Meh I give small, upstarts a pass

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

MFW Ive been watching all day and I see theyve met theyre goal.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Reminded me of Leviathan its WW1 where Germany had steam mechs and advanced tech while the British relied on genetically engineering monster

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If a mech met a tank, guess who would get its legs shot off having no idea from which dip in the terrain the next shot would come from

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is an RTS i'd play

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fast pacing is what makes RTS games skill based. If you can tech up and draw a game out it’s going to come down to unit balance, which sucks

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Reminds me of Rise Of Legends, kinda

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I loved that game. Still have the (plastic) box and discs.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How far along has development come so far? Is the Kickstarter getting funds to /start/ development or to continue it? Is it just concepts?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Game has been in development for the last year or so. Should have an Alpha out by this Summer. Checker he Kickstarter page for more details.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

KS page says alpha shortly after KS end. They mentioned they put $1m into the development already.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They also have a Facebook page where they have updates. Fairly certain I seen a tech demo on there.

Buildings and fortifications to protect your means of production? *Laughs in socialism*

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're the first person to comment about that, +1 to you dude.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a C&C fan I will definitely support, sorry for my opinion but I couldn't enjoy starcrafts speed :p

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

C&C is the game where you win by knowing how to use positioning, tactics and force comp. Starcraft you win by clicking faster. No contest.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Lmfao somebody is just bad at Starcraft.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I used to be pretty fucking good at Starcraft, I just realized it wasn't actually about strategy and stopped liking it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I dunno, every strategy game is all about how fast you are when it comes right down too it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Speed is always an element, but in C&C there's a slight delay between your orders and units carrying them out that makes micro less useful.>

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

To clarify: the board game Scythe and this are based on the same universe, which was created by the artist Jakub Rózalksi, but Scythe and >

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

this game have been developed independently by unrelated people (apart from Jakub himself who was heavily involved in both projects).

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ok thx. WW1 diesel Mechs look RAD!

*Laughs in Kaiserreich*

8 years ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 1

Funny me and friends just put together a Kaiserreich forum based RP XD

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I really hope this will be a slower paced tactical RTS where one can turtle. So tired of fast paced e-sports RTS games.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

You can turtle in most RTS games, just be ready for your opponent to take literally the entire rest of the map's resources and overrun you.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

*Properly constructed* AI profiles can go a long way to mitigate this. Profiles nowadays are like "Rush", "Super Rush" and "Hyper rush".

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not an AI issue, it's a strategy one. Once I've determined you're turtling, I know you won't stop me from expanding... so I will.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We're talking about SP campaigns though, I thought.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah, no I was talking about PvP. Most single player campaigns I've played give you plenty of time to build up though.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Think of the the environmental implications of those diesel machines

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

psst, google "iron harvest ypres"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, you thought our global warming was bad.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What are the environmental implications?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks awesome. Pity I hate RTS.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I like RTT far more and I'm hoping based on the description here that it is just labeled as a RTS because that's a more well known genre

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've played a few RTS, but much prefer turn based.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm the opposite, I love RTS and don't care to play turn based. Though I love watching bc they typically have great storylines.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks similar to Company of Heroes

8 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 2

God, that game was incredible, but so damn difficult.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

with mechs

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yup came here to say it appears to be CoH with mechs.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Love it!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

First screenshot of the game in this post is almost directly from CoH. Maybe 3rd or 4th mission. First you capture that courtyard from 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Axis and then you defend it for 15minutes or something like that. The mission introduces those mini tanks that go boom. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The gameplays released so far look nearly identical to CoH. Same cover system, same squad infantry system. Hope they change it up somehow.

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

I hope they keep it like CoH or refine it, best RTS since SC and C&C.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mehh, I was lukewarm to that. I didn't mind the simple nature of Dawn of War 1's cover/squad system. <3

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well at least it won't claim realism... Tiger 1s being penned by 76mm from the front... don't play COH after coming from War Thunder

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

This looks just like Scythe. A few of the pictures are in fact Scythe.

8 years ago | Likes 421 Dislikes 0

Bought a copy of Scythe based off this.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

IIRC Sycthe was based off of the dude's art as well.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

this looks like scythe

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Jakub Rozalski.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This looks like Rise of Nations' Vinci faction, albeit a bit more technologically advanced.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I read that both the artist Rozalski as well as the main designer from Scythe, Stegmaier, are on board for this Kickstarter.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Scythe has to be my favorite boardgame. It's the ideal blend of resource management, combat, and territory control.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It literally is the same setting, which is fantastic

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Artist is Jakub Rozalski. More of his work can be found here: http://jakubrozalski.tumblr.com/

Iron Harvest takes place in Rózalksi's world 1920+. Scythe is a boardgame license of that world—one game is not the foundation for the other

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

The 1920+ world belongs to the artist. Scythe was made based on this world but the artist made all this artwork and the story before scythe.

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

Thank you for sharing this! So much misinformation of "Based on Sycthe!" when the 1920+ is intellectual property of Jakub.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This game is not like the board game at all. However, there is a digital version of the board game coming out soon.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Scrolled down to find this comment. I believe it is directly based on Scythe. Which is a great table top game.

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

It's set in the same universe but this game is more based on combat whereas Scythe is more growing your little area of an empire

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Inspired by the same art, but not necessarily the same world.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

It is though in this case, they even have the same characters

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Both Scythe and Iron Harvest are based off of the same world created by the artist. That world design predates both games.
