A friend of mine is a kindergarten teacher, and he sent this to me this recently. Needless to say he had to bite his tongue not to laugh, and made sure it was taken apart before putting the blocks away.

Because how do you explain to a 5 year old that some shapes have very bad meanings because somebody once killed 6 million plus people under it?

Oh gee a symbol hurts me

Just look at it like a Buddhist swastika. 卍

The Reich is strong in this one, he will spin that spinner for the glorious nation....lol

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good thing it's a sauwastika

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I bet he saw that home.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What does someone killing a million people have to do with fidget spinners?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Heiled it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't think the shape is the bad bit, I think what people did to other people was the bad bit, not the logo.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

McDonalds made some bad burgers, know what we should do? Ban all curvy 'M's that'll sort it, what's next?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Bad shapes? 6 million PLUS people? Are you talking about the cross and the crusades?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Those had under 3 million deaths. (1-2M is estimated). He is talking about World War 2, which had like 50-60M casualties.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I used to draw this shape all over my religious education books before I knew what it was. I just got in trouble without knowing why.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yet build a lego hammer and sickle and who cares, despite Stalin killing at least 10 million in Ukraine, alone.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

When I was a kid those were beyblades

Just because your racist (or offended) mind sees it differently doesn't make his action/symbol racist or offensive. Eye of the beholder.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

To be a bit more accurate; 6 million jews, 7 million non-jew, 11+ millions in total

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Although technically 11+ is correct, usually 6+7 is written as 13.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

A small typo there, my bad

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

As a Jew, i prefer to see a kid build a swastika rather than playing with a fidget spinner, what is happening with you 2017?!

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I will not have people with anime avatars teaching our kids

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey look, it's the symbol for Thor!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I honestly thought the joke here was that since it was made of cubes, it couldn't spin. I didn't even realize the swastika element.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

When I was a kid(like 8-9 y/o) I drew swastikas on my arm with a pen. I had NO idea what it means, just thought the shape was cool. Man >

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

my dad was so fucking pissed. Got an extensive and angry history lesson then.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Once I was drawing on my middle finger with it up,with a marker &i didn't know that was bad, they made a huge deal out of it at school -_-

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shapes have no power, context should matter. Whether it's a swastika or cross, let's kids express their creativity. Adults too. Context.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

That boy ain't reich

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Until he turns it upside down, it's not nazi swastika. :p

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Yeah. He has to flip it and hold it an angle for it to be the right one.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And add another block to the ends of each line.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A side note, I can't remember which way, but the reversed way of that sign is a "good" sign in Japan.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Same in Hinduism. I grew up knowing to draw it the way this kid has constructed it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a sign used on maps to show temples. The shape is a crucifix anyways. Been around long before the Nazis appropriated it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Right. Many do not know about it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

TIL hitler squished 6 million jews with a fidget spinner

8 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 6

Fuck, my first laugh of the day.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It was a realllly big fidget spinner.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

11 million people.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Exactly, pisses me off when people ignore the other 5 million

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Shapes have no power. People are just easily offended

Thank you. Offense can only be taken, not given

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not to mention this shape isn't only about nazis

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Hindus, Buddhists and other religions have used it far more than Nazis ever did, or could.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Calling bs due to Elder signs.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Amen

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 6

People give meaning to shapes. The only difference between a traditional swastika and the Nazi one is orientation.

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 4

while that's true, i'd still not recommend getting a tattoo of the other kind of swastika.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The real problem is that he tried to make a fidget spinner.

8 years ago | Likes 1087 Dislikes 16

I have one on my desk to fuck with while I'm sitting in teleconferences n shit... don't get why it's cool to hate em, it's just a toy ffs

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Real talk there

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I guess you did nazi that one coming huh?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

yeah, about that. what a lot of us in the adult world consider ironic jokes, are actually a legit part of youth culture. like dabbing.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's just a fad. What's the difference between them and tamagotchis or any other trend that has occurred in any decade?

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

It's not so much the fad, it's the people who first bought into it, then used it to annoy everyone around them to no end. Like vaping.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

People look fondly back on Tamagotchis though.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Have you seen my pet rock? I think it ran away last night!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They arent young anymore.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

I meant they forgot how it to be young and just have fun with maybe simple and idiotic things. TAMAGOTCHI FTW. And Jojo.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Every generation has said that about the younger generation. Just let people enjoy what they enjoy.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They just seem more annoying now that social media and YouTube exist, and you can find videos of grown ass men claiming to be pro fidgeters

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Hey he did a great job color coordinating the design. I'd have just told him great job.

8 years ago | Likes 178 Dislikes 3

Tell him great job and not to give up on his dream of painting

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I mean, it sounds like that's exactly what the teacher did

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It looks all right to me

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That is a very good point.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Good job Adolf

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 2

B L U S H

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's not the right one though. The swastika angles right, not left. So he's off the hook on a technicality.

8 years ago | Likes 153 Dislikes 8

Plus the prongs on the outside are longer, makes the whole thing like a square.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The swastika is also a religious Hindu symbol. I grew up knowing to draw it the way this kid has constructed it

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That and the legs aren't long enough. It's supposed to be square

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

See? He knew what he was doing.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I remember its to the right because in 2nd grade, we graded our own work. To save time i made X next to everything if it was correct ....

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd turn each line into a checkmark. My parents were quickly notified and I was told I wasn't allowed to draw that symbol.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He flipped it over for that reason

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

Just to spite the Australians?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I was gonna say, technically isn't that a Tibetan peace/good luck symbol?

8 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 1

I thought the swastika was the tibetan peace symbol. Hitler just fucked up its meaning by killing jews under it. What I was told at any rate

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Symbol for Thor as well.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

So why didn't they use that on the movie posters?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I'm trying to come up with a pun involving Thor and Nazis....

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Best I got is this: What do you call a Norse Nazi whose been hit with a hammer? A Thor Nazi.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I know, it's terrible, but I don't see anyone else contributing to this.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No it's a Hindu peace symbol. The swastika has religious importance in India, and the word itself is Sanskrit.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

It has been used in many cultures around the world, typically as a sun wheel and/or a symbol of peace. Or as a symbol of eugenic beliefs.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I agree, but the word itself is Sanskrit.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is true.
