I love Halloween

You are preferably only supposed to scare kids on Halloween. Not scar them for life...

aaaah i love when people take their decorations too far and it makes the news!

I'd really like to visit America during Halloween.

Here is my attempt to recreate the first part of this post v

Those are Awesome!

Fuck! It is fall. As I was looking at these I heard the first flock of geese start heading south.

That went from creepy to silly when the skeletons came

does anybody have that spoopy where the guy put spiders in a box and projected their shadows onto the window?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This turned from spooky to spoopy real quick.

Some ideas: build a 25 foot wicker man sculpture in your backyard. No tall order.

Spoopy

Unfortunately we can't do anything with a noose these days because someone somewhere will see it as offensive or racist.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

well their being offended offends me

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Depends how you go about it. If you have it mixed with other Halloween decorations it's fine. Also outrage culture changes vogue quickly.

You seem to be under the impression I have skill and/or talent.

The second to last one needs to be lit from the bottom. That would 've terrifying.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

doesnt even really need to be lit, just an orange strobe light on bottom to give it the impression of not only being on fire, but movement

These photos are by a photographer who edited them to make them look as they do, they're not just props.

I like them. I haven't done anything like that.

head/partial body casts (maybe done in resin/silicone outer shell to waterproof), then wood or metal rods to keep em "floating"

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

In fairness though, they easily *could* be done without photo manipulation.

Christopher McKinney is the photographer. <3

Christopher McKenney* also: @Mcalister_ on Instagram if anyone is interested. <3

Hahaha. :)

I mean the ones with disembodied parts behind sheets could easily be done with a mold and paper mache

8 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 1

Oh yeah. I've done a few. You can do it with starch on fabric as well

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Or ya know... You could go out a hack a few bodies up.

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Don't take lazy shortcuts in your decorating, your guests will notice.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I feel like the mache would be the shortcut.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you even know how much time that takes?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Seeing stuff like this makes we wish we celebrated Halloween here like this.

8 years ago | Likes 109 Dislikes 5

Yeah, trunk or treat is really lame. Kids should be encouraged to walk around and visit houses.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

we have christmas trees in our neighborhood already

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because of ppl like my mom in law...who has bought 8 fake, FAKE, Xmas trees in the last 12 years. Incl 2 this year. Already in garage.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's just crazy, its like they are marketing it earlier and earlier (sometimes good as it reminds me I need to save money haha)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

nah mate, filipinos are hyped for xmas

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

UK? If so, yeah. I always want to do huge decorations but it's just not "us"

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

In the US it has no special meaning beyond what you guys have, just better marketing. You could just start doing it there if you wanted.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Give it time, Halloween is taking over Japan, I think it’ll continue to spread

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

lol I mean... it's based on samhain, which is an ancient druidic (irish, in this case) tradition. it's closer to your thing than ours (if>

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

>youre talking about the UK)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Australia, some people here do trick or treat but nothing like this.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

My Australian house is already halloweened to the max!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Really? we just don't get that much around SA, well not that I have seen.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm just over the SA border in VIC but no one else seems to have joined in yet :/...Still all the stores have sold out of Halloweeeeen stuff

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

really? that's interesting. I was in germany last year, berlin specifically and people looked at me like I was out of my mind when I asked>

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

>about the trick or treating and costumes. figured you go far enough out and nobody celebrates it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well Germany/Austria are quite some ways away from Australia so maybe they are a bit different over in Europe.
