Took my puppy for a walk today and afterwards he was acting very strangely. Rushed him to the vet and after tests discover that he had ingested marijuana on his walkies. He's going to be fine thankfully so enjoy this picture of a stoned pupper!

‘Sir your pupper... is very high’

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Paranoia has set in. He's worried about the rising tensions between NK and US

Got any chips...

So, um, where were you walking him? Asking for a friend.

If once heard that dogs and cats can't digest Weed by themselves, it that true?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Another proof that MJ is harmless. Your doggod knows... legalize in the east coast!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But... Where you live that your pupper can find some ganja on the ground?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

So you're saying there was like, a random bag of weed your dog got to? I'm perplexed. So many questions

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Dies he normally eat cigarette butts and stuff like that?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We don't have any weed in the house though, so he must have got it outside.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not really. He's a puppy so he'll pick stuff up but he usually drops it. I didn't notice him get anything, but he must have.

He's at the vet, he fears they came back to finish the job and cut his dick of, too

Same thing happened to my dog. House guest smoked while I was at work and forgot to put the bag away.

Unless dogs are somehow different, eating raw marijuana won't do anything to you. The THC has to be extracted into some kind of fat.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I'm assuming it was a joint or something. But honestly I have no idea.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not the extracting that makes it an active ingredient. It's either heat or a chemical process called decarboxylation.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Marijuana prepared for smoking can cause poisoning in dogs. This has been documented. That said, yes, edibles are MORE dangerous.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where do you live where you can just get high of what's outside on the ground? <_<

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

the entire west coast of north america.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It helps to weigh less than 20 lbs.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How did the dog find some to eat? it's not like people usually just leave joints or dime bags laying on the sidewalk

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ummm... ive found a few... And it also grows wild...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There is a plant that's similar or maybe the same that grows in the wild, but I believe it cant produce THC without a lot of specific care.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How did the vet determine that it was marijuana?

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Dogs get THC poisoning, and they have multiple symptoms that make the diagnosis, and I think they do a blood test as well.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The dog kept asking for Doritos and to watch Rick And Morty on repeat

8 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

Urine or blood test I think. He suspected nicotine or marijuana based on behaviour asked us to leave him. We got a call a few hours later.

8 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 3

Thankfully he'll be just fine. There's a few mixed reports out there but it's not deadly to dogs. He'll sleep well tonight for sure.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Your vet and dog got stoned together more.

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

What was he acting like before you look him to the vet? Also, what did they do to treat him?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The ones I've seen act dopey when left alone, but spaz out in a panic when you arouse them. They also dribble urine.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This happened to my dog as well, vet said it was either anti-freeze or marijuana.. and if it was anti-freeze it would be non-stop barfing.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fun Fact: barfing is a common term for feeding your dog raw meat (at least here in Germany)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No such tests exist to detect THC, he ate your stash mate, you don't have to try and lie

i stand corrected sir, i apologize

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Human urine tests sometimes work on dogs. http://www.petpoisonhelpline.com/uncategorized/pet-marijuana-intoxication-rise/

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A positive means it's positive, but dogs metabolize it differently, and a negative doesn't necessarily mean it's negative.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

'Sometimes', that's the key word here, it's not a guarantee

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I said sometimes. YOU said "no such test exists." Stop trying to look like the reasonable person in this discussion.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Ingested marijuana on his walkies"... I call bullshit, he ate your brownies.

8 years ago | Likes 730 Dislikes 6

The whole chocolate thing I would think would be the bigger issue if that was the case

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Not all dogs react badly to chocolate. All the dogs I had ingested at least a small amount of chocolate. None had a reaction. The vet 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 7

It is the TYPE of chocolate that is the issue. Dark chocolate is the most dangerous. Most chocolate products aren't technically chocolate.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Same with my old dog, once ate a whole box of chocolates, looked like she wanted more

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Said that it's similar to peanut allergy in humans. Those that have it, react very badly.2:2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

Not exactly that. It's about the metabolization rate of theobromine that is a lot lower for animals than for humans. 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...humans would need to ingest pounds and pounds of very dark chocolate to have any effects. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theobromine

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is not true, but it could be that they used a poor analogy. Luckily, Chocolate is "dose-based". Although knowing the dose ingested...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Haha. I’m all for weed but we don’t have any in the house which is why it was such a shock. If it was mine I’d admit it.

8 years ago | Likes 301 Dislikes 10

Man's best friend, pssh, he didn't even share

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My cousins dog did that and had a seizure

8 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 1

I agree that it's probably the chocolate but no guarantees. But my friends dog ate half an ounce and he wasn't cool, but no serious issues

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Every body is different, even for animals. Chocolate and Marijuana can both cause seizures.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Had a seizure from eating weed? I call bullshit. That dog must have hit the hard stuff.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 7

Dogs react differently to the things we eat man. Some stuff we eat is toxic, other stuff will just fuck em up

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Call bullshit all you want that's what happened.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Marijuana toxicity can cause seizures in dogs. ~Veterinarian

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Humans are incredibly tolerant to most drugs, compared to animals. The level of toxicity for marijuana is a lot lower than for human, 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

*the toxicity threshold for marijuana ; is what I meant.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...even when accounting for size difference. Alcohol is another example. In general, don't give recreational drugs to animals. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thtd probably bcuz of the chocolate tbh

8 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 2

Marijuana is highly toxic to dogs and cats even without the chocolate. They don't require as much to get high too so it's often too much!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

no it wasn't in brownies, it was straight up pot. His roommate had it under his bed or something and the dog got into it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Although im. Not a vet or dog so idk, my sister is though. A vet tht is. I might just b a dog, like i said idk

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 9
