My dogs will take a mouthful of food including a green bean, swallow everything else and then delicately spit out the bean

Fed my choco lab a leaf of romaine lettuce and he really enjoyed it. Then tried the cut off base, not the stem, and it was a prize. He was so happy he was rolling around on it.

With my black lab, there was a time the vet was getting really concerned about his weight. Too many treats. So we replaced half his kibble at every meal with canned green beans and he ate it up like no tomorrow. Only took couple months to get a couple pounds off of him to get him back down to a healthier weight

Im lucky, I didnt even have to train my pupper to be gentle she just is, especially when taking small treats from your fingertips.

You just present the back of your hand and don’t turn your hand around until they calm down. Use your other hand to press down on their nose and give them commands to settle down. Eventually just the command should work.

Yeah, I wouldn’t do that. Just pull it away fast so they don’t get it and tell them “EASY”. They learn real quick.
