My lab will catch birds on the wing (taking off from low bushes). She is always so proud that she has created a mess for me to clean up.

Maybe it's trying to manipulate you into finally throwing that disgusting bath mat out of the kitchen.

You know you have to eat it to make your dog happy, right?

I don't like rats at the best of times, but this one was sounding an alarm.

Heck yes Coraline!

I found my GSD herding a rat in the kitchen.. not like attacking just any time it would move she'd shove it into the corner.

I dunno what her plan was...

Does she have to see a vet now? That's a fuckin nasty lookin rat.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Maybe, maybe not. I don't think my vet worried when either of my dogs has caught mice.

I mean, non-pet animals don't tend to look great.

Especially when they've been killed by a dog.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Is it an actual rat? I can't tell the difference between a big mouse and a little rat.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In NYC it would be considered a baby rat.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Might need to bring the rat in for rabies testing, revax the dog and quarantine. What I had to do when my dog made a wild bunny "friend"

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

...do rats even carry rabies? I know they carry a lot of nasty things, but rabies?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Vet student friend says rodents such as rats don't get rabies. There are other diseases to worry about though.

Rats that can cook are an exception.

And that's why they've been eradicated from Alberta. No rats here!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't believe it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Impressive... but even they admit it's possible for one to slip through. Still, I admire what they're doing.

My dog does this with rabbits. Kills 'em, then brings them to the back door and lines them up on the porch.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yup, if it was healthy. They are fantastic battered and fried.
