My cousin found a wounded baby deer by our cabin. They bottle fed her for a day and are taking her to a rehab center to be re-released. This is her meeting my grandma.

Ever wonder why deer wander into campgrounds or get hit by cars walking down city streets? Its you cousins fault and every

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

Wrong, I'm a hunter and I can absolutely say that deer wander everywhere because they're dumber than a box of rocks.

Can confirm. When over populated, if you don't hit them with a car, they will hit your car with themselves. Good thing they're prolific.

An incredible thing you can do is talk with your local farmers when they are going to harvest their fields and that day you go through the

corn or whatever and carry the baby deer out and lay them down on the grass next to the field. the mothers will find them and if you

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

remember to not touch the babys directly (touch em with wood working gloves or grass in your hands) the mothers will accept their babys back

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

we saved 5 baby deer from the harvester last week and watched all the mothers come by and take their babys back into the forest :))))

The rehab center might take the baby back to the same place for release to see if momma comes back. A wounded baby is an easy target with

or without mom around

The freaking mothers leave them for most of the day. They do this so that predators don't single out the baby when attacked

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Yeah, but I think it's the fact that it's wounded that made them abandon protocol. Momma has milk, but no medicine.

Really like to know how it was wounded
