No gonna lie. Having a rough time today. Depression and anxiety are rough. My plants are my little buddies. I try to keep them happy as best I can.

What I have started doing is “saving” orchids from the clearance section of stores. Many times they are completely fine, maybe a dead flower here or there and almost always revivable, even in the worst cases. I hate the thought of stores just throwing out these beauties. So I rummage through the sale section to find friends to bring home and back to life if need be.

This year I’ve tried growing tomatoes. It’s been rough, eastern facing windows isn’t ideal for these puppies.

Full bloomage this last winter

I love the greenish color of this one.

Phaelonopsis have come a long way in the last 20 years in terms of hardiness. I would argue that most people can take care of them. It’s just a matter of paying attention and following some basic rules.

A long time ago I fancied dendrobium orchids, but you don’t see them as much in stores, let alone the clearance aisle. This one reminds me of one of my first orchids when I was a kid.

I didn’t play football like the normal bois. Lul.

First blooms this last winter

One of my OG orchids from when I was a teenager. My father takes care of it now. He’s kinda become attached to it. 20 years old and still kickin’

My Christmas lights from 2022!

One of my friends told me it was, “happy to see me”

My one hibiscus. Gotta rep one of my favorite flowers.

Fun fact, stemless wine glasses are great for beer

Moar blooms! I hate they only last a day or two

The OG group

Back when everything was small

No flowers? Good time to repot!

Remember, orchids hate standing water and excess moisture.

Gurl gotta know her anglezzzz

When I first moved in to my apt back in 2021. It’s a little overgrown and unkempt now

I love orchids. This too shall pass @OP. I have anxiety and depression also. Here if you need a friend.

I get it. I've seen a number of plants that needed saving. Don't have the skills or the patience. Glad you're out there. Good work.
