I just bought a model ship from an antique store yesterday. I love all of the little details that your father has added in.

My friend from work makes these.

Making these things is every bit as hard as it looks. Excellent work.

Always upvote models, be they super- or ships.

That's cool! My dad built a couple of these when he was younger, everything was super detailed, even down to the actual working rigging.

My grandpa made ships from wood like this, but he passed away few years ago. I actually got one of the ships after my grandma passed few months ago but I don't have a place for it so I left it with my parents for now.

My grandfather used to do the same. This takes me back. Does your father coat the strings with wax so they don't fray?

Why didn't you take a photo of the entire thing in one shot without any cropping of the ship. also banana for scale

Model ships set unrealistic standards for all the other ships out there

This brings back memories. My grandfather used to build these ships and ships in a bottle.

I imagine your mom taking a bath: “Henry, can you get your fucking boat out of here!”

Has he considered floating a ship in a pool and firing tiny cannons at it to sink it?
