5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This makes me miss Roger Troutman so much. He was a "talk box" master!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is called funk.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How is this device/instrument called?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's a person this young doing with such an analog instrument?! Kudos you funky little whippersnapper.

5 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 4

Virtual Analog Modeling. Microkorg. Same engine as the MS2000 model.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So this is the ventilator, huh? I don’t see what all fuss is about...

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ahh ole Herby Hancock style

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Daft punk behind the masks.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Since no ones said it... Its called a vocoder. Theyre a type of synthesizer. Roger Troutman (Zapp) is one of the best known users.

5 years ago | Likes 115 Dislikes 9

I made a talkbox the other night with an old amp, a horn driver and vinyl tubing, this is definitely a talkbox. Although vocoders are cool

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The one he's using is a golden throat talkbox.

5 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Talkbox. Vocoder has a mic, not a tube. I used to sell both.

5 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

This is actually a melodica. Bc keyboard. Vocoder is a codec for synthesizing human voice.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

It's a talk box. Melodica is more like a harmonica with a keyboard. You blow into it, rather than it pumping sound into your mouth.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Seriously, its not. I played one before.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

A vocoder is a speaker that is connected to a tube that makes the sound come out of and be shaped by the users mouth, anything can drive it

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

When it has the tube, it's a talk box. A vocoder uses a mic so your voice is the envelope that the notes played are within. Think Frampton >

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

> (Talkbox) vs. Styx Mr. Roboto. (Vocoder)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

frampton's vocoder was driven by his guitar. It's what we called them back in the day. definitions may have changed but I am an old dude.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A Talkbox outputs the guitar sound through a tube which is then in your mouth, the only way you hear anything out of it is because your →

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

→ mouth is also near a microphone. A Vocoder takes the voice input from a microphone, and uses the voice →

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Sounds like a mix of Roger Troutman aka Zapp and Remember from Michael Jackson. (But it's obviously not.)

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

more bounce

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What is with her plastic tube thing? Awesome job though

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

its a talkbox, so essentially the sound from the synth is pushed through that tube, generally by a horn or speaker driver, and then you 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

move your mouth and it alters the sound, you can do the same with your phone, jsut use this video, put mouth over speaker, mouth the words

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is awesome. Vocoder is always surreal.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thats a Talkbox, not a Vocoder..

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Silly me then...

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is that Mr. Frampton, I hear?

5 years ago | Likes 203 Dislikes 2

I saw Frampton at a festival once when I was lil, it was awesome

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Do you feel yeaa mega track good old times

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It could be Joe Walsh.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks cool, I'll look into them. Thanks for the info!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have no idea what ZAPP is, but I'll look into it.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No. Its Roger Troutman.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yup.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha glad I'm not the only one. Thats was my first thought.

5 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

That's alright....

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh yup I hear it too

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Dude. Where did you find this? This kid has mad skill. Pretty sure that’s called a Talkbox

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Or voice synthesizer

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Korg microsynth retails for 499$ as far as presets the thing is shit bit if you know what to do this can become heavy artelory in your lab

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

For sure, if you can afford the k3 do it. They’re fucking awesome!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Synth vocoder

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Same thing.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Its a talkbox and they aren't the same, talkbox uses a horn driver to push sound through a tube into your mouth and your mouth shape 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

controls the sound, then you generally mic it up, a vocoder takes your voice, puts it through a mic which alters the notes youre playing 2/3

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

so vocoder is voice being mixed with electronics, but a talkbox is electronics being distorted by mouth shape, think analog for talkbox 3/4

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

digital for vocoder. Vocoder has no tube in the mouth
